I agree with most of the comments given by others. My experience is similar when collecting missed deliveries, however when I reach the counter whether in 4 minutes or 40 minutes, the service is mostly good. I hope Royal Mail Hartlepool would look at these reviews and make improvements.
Absolutely the worst royal mail I've ever had dealings with. So unhelpful and refuse point blank to leave a parcel with neighbours if I'm not in meaning I have to drive 40mins there and 40mins back to collect it.
Why is the gates locked still 45 mins before closing no contact number either
Only company I have ever used that I have had to have hostage negotiation to get my parcels. Opening hours for collection or delivery isn't useful to anyone who is employed and has to leave the house, and on the rare occasion you are in for delivery you had better be like Usain bolt because knock knock and their off! It's strange I dont experience this with UPS FedEx Hermes or even Santa! I cant wait for Christmas to work longer hours and get to line up outside the depot in all conditions at 7am again. But it could be worse I could have paid for the privilege....oh wait

If they was a half a star I wouldn't even rate it that. I left a note threw email to say if I wasn't in to leave with a neighbour or in the out house in back garden. 1 they didn't even knock as I was in the house , 2 they said they couldn't gain access to back garden . So they didn't even try a neighbour or could be botherd to walk around the back garden where they can gain access !! both me neighbours are elderly and dont work and are always in.. shocking service yet again!
Continuously having to collect my own parcels because they just post the "Sorry we missed you" card I have witnessed this several times. Sick of staying in waiting for non delivery. And now they're tracking system shows 2 parcels were delivered when I only received one. Total shambles of an organisation.
Absolutely rubbish! Waited in for a couple hours for a delivery and I get an email saying the parcel was delivered and signed for. Someone had signed for the parcel under my name. Anyway, I get to the sorting office to explain and I was told that the post man had delivered the parcel to the wrong address and had it signed for so someone has tried their luck and then realised he'd sent it to the wrong address. I now have to wait to collect it another day.

I had an parcel delivered while at work, so was left a ' we have something for you' card. So on Sunday I joined a very long que at the depot to collect my parcel only when I got to the desk, handed the card and ID over, the lady disappeared for almost 10 mins only to return and say she couldn't find my parcel. Obviously I was dissappointed and she took my number and assured me that they would find my parcel and ring me for an appropriate time for delivery... so it's now Thursday, no call and no parcel..... great customer service. Well done royal mail!
