The Royal Horse is part of the Hungry Horse chain. It's a chain pub/restaurant and that drives the experience. It's family friendly with deals for kids and there is a play area. There is good on-site free parking. There are also deals on food and drink. If you have young kids or are budget conscious, this ticks the boxes but if you want a special night or meal out, the Heathcote Inn opposite would be better (and of course more expensive). It depends what you are looking for. The two pubs offer different expectations.

Sometimes food is really nice, other times not so much. But normally very quick service & cheap menu. Good location for family meals

It is what it is - cheap and plentiful pub fare. Not what you want if you are dieting or expecting haute cuisine, but sometimes you want pie and chips or a burger and fries and then it hits the mark. Service is generally good. It is often very busy so advisable to book if you are wanting to go on a Friday evening or over the weekend. The children love the massive bucket of ice cream sundaes that they do!

Customer service was great... been here loads of times but this time food wasn't great.. steak over cooked.. eggs under cooked... wasn't as good as usual..

Waited an hour veg was frozen mash not mixed you could taste powder chicken was frozen aswell i think tryed some beef off hubby plate and that was lovely don't think I would go again
