Individual, charming bed and breakfast, conveniently located near to the DLR. No frills, no tv in the room…fabulous! Terrific breakfast too. Yes, there was a bit of noise due to it being London…what do you expect?….but the bed was super comfy, the staff were kind and the location/ proximity to the railway or the buses were really convenient. Would we use it again? Definitely. Thank you!
Nice enough place. Good location for what we needed but £195 a night for a room without a tv that was originally £170 before they con you to upgrade the room, cant see wha i paid extra for to be honest. Not much of a coffee selection more tea than anything in the room. Bathroom wasn't the cleanest and needed some work doing in there. Breakfast wasn't amazing either very poor selection in a very quiet and dull room
I booked 3 nights here and I had to check out early after just 1. I was given a room in the courtyard, and when I arrived one of the room windows was open. It seems that the courtyard is a real spider habitat, and a couple rather large spiders had moved in to my room. This was a major dealbreaker for me. The staff was able to honor my refund request for only the third night per their 48 hour cancellation policy, but in the end I ended up paying for 2 nights and getting one night of anxious sleep. The neighborhood is pretty far out of the city center and not that nice. Mostly I would just avoid this place for the spiders if you’re unlucky enough to get a room in the courtyard.
Quiet and safe place. Located walking distance to the tube system. Flexible check in and out times. Very calm atmosphere with their own chapel. Have been multiple times and will be returning Rooms: Clean rooms, well equipped with the normal amenities. Can't recall whether TV was present Food & drinks: Breakfast was very nice. Good variety even for people with allergies
Unique and charming accommodation in London offering good value bed and breakfast. The building is beautiful and has a lovely garden/patio with greenery and squirrels. The standard room is comfortable and quiet, however I did find that some details in the bathroom could use some maintenance work. Mind you, do not expect the facilities of a regular hotel because it is not one ie. no TV. Breakfast does not have much variety but has everything you need and the quality of the food is really high. However, do not expect your typical English hotel breakfast items such as beans, cooked bacon or fried eggs. Yurt café is also a great option to have a nibble and relax. Staff were accommodating and luggage room services were offered on the day of arrival/departure. Location wise, 1 minute walking distance to the DLR station. Although the DLR was under maintenance during our stay, we easily got around using the nearby bus stop. Overall, I would absolutely recommend staying at the Royal Foundation of St Katherine.
Comfortable, quiet, affordable and friendly place to stay just a few minutes walk from DLR station. Breakfasts were amazing, so much choice and great coffee. Small rooms.
Unhygienic stay. Stayed here for a night and there was a bed bug in my bed. Upon seeing the bed bug I took a video and reported it to the staff in which they tried to convince me it was a bug that ‘flew’ in through the window. The bug did not have wings. Advised they would resolve the issue however has been ignoring correspondence’s. Immoral behaviour.
Convenient location close to Limehouse station, but the room let it down massively. Dust and cobwebs everywhere, the bathroom door was broken, as well as there being a weird stench in the shower. Noise was a real issue as well.Rooms: 3/5
Excellent location, very much no frills compared to the other hotels i have stayed in area but very clean which is main thing. The only complaint i would have is it is situated right alongside a busy train line, and it was well after midnight before I managed to switch offRooms: 4/5
This isn’t your normal hotel. It’s a serene religious retreat that houses an old Chapel and provides the rooms on a Bed & Breakfast basis. Since it’s not a normal hotel, you’ll not have the amenities like room service. But you get a lot of benefits that you don’t get in a hotel. Rooms which are larger than normal London rooms. Parking not free, payment using mobile in a protected compound. Good free continental breakfast. Polite service. Peaceful and serene location, which you can’t believe is in London. A historical location with hundreds of years of history associated with it. Overall it’s a great place to stay. Rooms: Spacious rooms for London standards Food & drinks: Free tasty sumptuous continental breakfast is included
