UNPROFESSIONAL CAR SALESMAN DEPOSIT PAID- SELLER PULLED OUT OF DEAL VIA WHATSAPP MESSSAGE We went to see a beautiful 2019 Blue Alfa Romeo Giulia on Saturday 22nd April 2023. Both my 11 year old son and i fell in love with the car. We agreed a price of £17450 based on what Roy Wilson the owner told me would be the VRT duty when importing to Southern Ireland. I got to the VRT office on 25th April and they told me that the figure that Roy had provided me was inaccuruate as he had chosen the incorrect version of the car when making his calculations. The figure was €2200 more than Roy had told me. I phoned him straight away to tell him that i couldn't go through with the deal. The next morning, out of courtesy I sent him the vrt figure printout that I had been provided by the vrt office. He then said he would knock off £450 and sell the car for £17000. I told him that my budget would only allow me go to £16500 and that would split the diffference of the extra VRT and after some back and forth we agreed the figure of £16500. On Thursday 27th April I sent him a £500 deposit via revolut. I then ordered the sterling draft from the bank and sold my own car. On Tuesday 2nd May Roy Wilson sent me an unexplained whatsapp message to say that he was no longer going through with the deal on the alfa. I phoned him after i finished work and he didnt answer. He phoned back and I missed him but then called him back and he said he was sorry he got his figures mixed up.. I told him that I had sold my car and had bought the Sterling but he just said he was sorry. It was very unprofessional and disappointing..Im not sure if its incompetence or else he had kept trying to sell the car for a higher price. But it majorly inconvenienced me. I also have to break the news to my son as he was super excited. I like to be straight with people but unfortunately Roy does not

Not a very good encounter. Within twenty minutes I was lied to in such a way they must have thought I was a complete fool, not only that but the salesman spoke to another guy who came over to me and said the exact same lie word for word and I watched them as they performed there little act together. I was treated like a fool although I have been driving for almost fifty years. They sell top of the range cars at top of the range prices but will do the cheapest possible repairs if they can get away with it. I don't think I've ever met Roy Wilson but would like to speak to him to find out if he is aware of how the two main men are running his business or should that be ruining. I'm about ready to get serious and let my solicitor show them I'm not the fool they believe I am if this drags out much longer.
Bought a car from Roy Wilson less than a month ago. Unfortunately, had a few issues with the vehicle. Provided estimated quote for the repair work. Testimony to Raymond Stewart & Roy Wilson they provided me with the cash to do the repairs, as I lived miles away separated by the sea!. Customer service is a little slow but as the saying goes "you get there in the end". And in the end that is all that counts. Raymond is a decent honest person who will honour his word. This is very useful in today's world, so don't hesitate to buy from Roy Wilson Car Sales. Jim who did the exchange was a nice guy too! Buyers buy in confidence. All the best for the future and I'll be back.

No problems with the car I purchased, however they either claimed they had the service history when they did not or they refused to give me the service history for my car
