Whilst out shopping in Birmingham today my daughter and I decided to try our luck at Rossopomodoro in Selfridges. The menu seemed good and it was empty so we got seated straight way. My daughter chose a Margarita pizza and I asked for a main salad ... Verdura ai frutti rossi ... Though the pizza looked fine and no complaints, the salad was a disaster! It was basically a mountain of lettuce thrown over a plate with 1 bean, 2 pieces of bolied potato, 1 slice of red onion .... I think you get the picture! I do not recommend this meal ! Though I did not share my feelings with the waitress, which I now regret as the experience cost me £9.95... I ended up leaving most of it as there is only so much lettuce I can eat in one go! I have given this review one star ... only because the waitress was pleasant.
Subliminal restaurant, excellent food, wonderful service, very atmospheric with a beautiful wooden fire. Loved the Bruschetta and the wine. I forgot I was in Birmingham and felt as though I was dining in sunny Italy. I felt it really captured the ambience of a Napoli household. The staff were very charming and very Italian, particularly Rocco whose blue eyes gave me a heart attack but his smile saved me. Francesco was a real gentleman and made me feel very welcome with his dignified nonchalance and warm nature. Will definitely be returning and would recommend this to anyone who wants the real italian experience. Bellisimo!
We just got home from having an amazing meal! We started off with bruchetta and a mini cheese pizza. For mains we had lemon chicken and carbonara. We finished with the tiramisu dessert. The wait staff are Italian and all the food is directly from Italy. The carbonara dish I had was exactly like the one I had in Roma. The only negative was all that chocolate on the tiramisu! A bit overkill but my husband loved it! Everyone was lovely and friendly and just what I would expect from an Italian restaurant. Being that my husband and I have been to Italy several times, we found the food and service to be like that of Roma or Firenze. Thank you for the delightful evening and we look forward to coming back again soon!
great food and excellent service , very authentic and definitely felt the Italian atmosphere ! 5 stars for this one
Returning coustomer at this place It's by faaaar the best pizza in Birmingham by far
Terrible customer service. Waited with my 8 year old niece to be seated for 20 mins. Appreciated it was the end of the lunchtime rush, but with 4 tables were free and needing to be setup, after 15 mins, we would have just been happy to sit down wherever. Loads of eye contact with the head waiter, who didn't make an effort to help. Another guy came over twice and said "1 min", but we were just left waiting. And all the other diners where wondering what the hold up was, whilst watching the show unravel. Finally, we were seated. Waited for the menu and then said to the waiter, "we had to wait for 20 mins when there were tables free". An apology would have been nice, but instead he rolled his eyes and sarcastically said "oh really" and was just generally a pretty condescending response. So I took my niece and got up and left. We then walked to the other side of Nandos, who has 20 people waiting in the queue in front of us - we only waited 10 mins to be served and the kind waiter apologised and seated us like a true pro. So, my recommendation, based on the customer service of this restaurant...don't even bother.
Translated by Google Fantastic Neapolitan pizza and I am a bell I know what it means. Original Fantastica pizza napoletana e io sono campana so cosa vuol dire .
