Great fun and enjoyable. Weather was miserable but you can still enjoy the train and stations to have a mooch around. Staff are super friendly and engaging. We purchased the rover ticket. Plenty of space on the train. Parking is free.
What a beautifully kept railway. The steam trains are incredible, they are so cute and well maintained. You can take the dog on the train too. This train is just as exciting for adults as it is for children . The train left on time, everything runs like clockwork. Just wish normal train services were this good! It is so cute, you literally go through back gardens along the way and people wave to you on your journey. The train brings out the best in everyone and makes everyone smile. It was really interesting to see the landscape change as you near Dungeness which is also an amazing place to visit. You can get off at New Romney and a few other stops too. Definitely worth taking a trip on here. I would definitely do it again to go back to Dungeness.
Been on this twice over the years - only been as far as New Romney both times - remember being surprised the first time at the size of the engine miniature and the tiny carriages- which are cramped and very basic and you can see the DIY build of them. However a great ride and good station cafes. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. It is however a bit on the expensive side, even though they have concessions for pensioners and handicapped it is only a very small concession.
