Very good place for Sunday afternoon with kids

Normal opening times 10 - 5 at weekends only, April to October. Schools may arrange weekday visits. I visited with a primary school party. The staff are all volunteers, and all work tirelessly to make a great day out. They planned and executed age appropriate activities, that were fun and informative. A great deal of maintenance on the infrastructure has been undertaken. Check website for some weekend special events that occur during the year. They have a detailed model railway of Eurotunnel , and the old Elham Valley line, along with the nature trail and associated learning. Thank you all, an enjoyable day, will return one weekend myself.

Fantastic place to relax and enjoy the gardens with a nice cup of tea, or get a history of the old Elham Valley Railway. Lots to look at (including riding the little train), and the working model railway of the Folkestone terminal is brilliant.

Good to visit with kids. Nice little museum with train rides. The tea room has very limited choice of food.
