It's not the best train station around, but it doesn't necessarily have to be. To be fair, Newark is a comparatively small city, so there's really no need for a gigantic glammed-up train station, when this one still serves it's purpose. I had an okay time/experience here. My main issue, however, is tied to certain inconveniences I experienced here. The first is a lack of power outlets for customer use. My phone was almost dead and I desperately needed to charge, but there are hardly any power outlets around, unlike some other train station. Secondly, there's no spaces for sitting while you wait for your train. This can be quite frustrating and inconvenient, especially if your train is still a long way off.
A damn good station with very spacious parking. There are refreshments available and both of the platforms have toilets. Staff always helpful. There’s a useful lift service over the main line for the disabled and/or heavy luggage. Please be wary of oncoming through trains. If you happen to be engaged in a three way conversation on the platform you may only be aware of a high speed approaching train when it’s driver sounds it’s horn. Most of these trains are passing through at 100 mph and their approach into the station complex is quite silent, even the slightly slower freight trains are quite quiet on approach.
Can't fault it. Very friendly and helpful staff. The place is clean. Refreshments are available either platform. Readily available car parking.
Very reasonable - hard to find on the website but only cost £12.50 to park Friday to Sunday. Quick and easy to use as well
Prebooked online, but when trying to get out of the car park, had to pay £12.50, so cost was £22.50. No reply or acknowledgment to emails sent to NCP Be aware of these thieving ba.....rds!!
Lovely old entrance very clean nice local hub polite staff easy parking for once
Has a cafe and toilets, easily accessible.
A better station for transit through the North Eastern part of London via Lincoln.
Clean and tidy station, but quite busy.
