We arrived here on 1st June, from the get go the staff were very friendly, our time to check in was between 2pm and 3pm, we arrived on site at 12pm and our caravan was ready for us on arrival! We were given a lovely caravan at the front of the site, close to all amenities. The caravan was spotless and very comfortable.nWe booked a week of passes, the entertainment is brilliant, something different every night. The staff are lovely in all areas.nWe are still here at the moment and are lovely every minute and don’t want to go home.nWe can’t wait to return in August.nWe’ve stayed in both cleethorpes and Skegness haven now, and Skegness site is the best by far in my opinion.nThank you for your hospitality!
My wife and I booked for four days. Fantastic greeting from the security officer on the gate. Accommodation is excellent. Nice and quiet. Short drive into the sea front. Two lovely meals at the Richmond arms pub. All in all a fantastic place to stay. Highly recommend
Having always been to Mablethorpe Haven we decided this year to give Skegness a go, both me and my partner have family in the area so it’s nice to tie a holiday in with being able to visit family.nnFirst impressions were ok, although being greeted with a long queue to get in was a bit daunting, especially as we had a 4pm to 5pm check in, so having lost the first day due to the late check in was a bit frustrating, but we got in quite quickly, frankly to have to pay £20-£40 for an earlier check in 3 hours earlier was the max is a bit steep.nnAlso seeming like you’re about to drive out of Skegness before the park appears almost in the middle of a housing estate was also a bit strange,nnWe had a static van literally on the edge of the park, open our bedroom curtain and there was a block of flats that could see straight into the bedroom, yes we had a dog so that limits the amount of vans available and there were 7 of us but there were numerous empty ones everywhere, we almost felt like we weren’t on Haven but a park all by itself.nnThe van itself was clean, well maintained and comfortable enough, central heating as standard and a decent size lounge area, although due to the size of the lounge it made the rest of the van seem very compact, not an issue with Haven but a slightly oddly designed caravan.nnThe park itself needs some work doing to covert it from the previous owners layout to being an actual Haven. The outdoor play area is small and lacking equipment, the onsite shop is very small, the club and amusements are also very small and were extremely busy, and there there’s the pool…nnThe pool would be perfect if all you want to do is swim, but for kids who want slides and a pool that isn’t too deep and they can play in then it’s a no go, so much so they have a lane roped off purely for swimming up and down.nnThe shallowest points is 0.9m, standard swimming pool shallow end depth, but not much good for toddlers and babies who want to have a paddle in a nice shallow pool like Mablethorpe has, so limiting activities for children of all ages.nnAdd to this one lifeguard on duty which, due to ratio, means they have to severely limit the number of people allowed in at one time, so slots filled very quickly for what was a very underwhelming activity, needless to say we booked to go twice but cancelled the second one.nnOne thing that was great about the pool, or so I thought, was the spa, sauna and gym, except you have to pay extra to use these, even though you’ve paid more to have the passes to be able to access the facility in the first place.nnThey’re also in the process of extending the park at Skegness so unless they invest heavily, and soon, in the facilities and expanding them they’re going to have some very disappointed guests fighting over the facilities.nnOverall it wasn’t bad but it also wasn’t great either, Mablethorpe Haven may be getting a bit dated but it is by far a more superior park, needless to say next year we know where we won’t be going.nnMy advice, don’t get swept away by the thought Skegness Haven is the “newer” park and the novelty of this, quite simply it’s very underwhelming and under resourced for the same price as Mablethorpe.
Brilliant place. We arrived and had a slight issue but was resolved straight away by the customer service team at reception. The staff have been fantastic. The security guys all give us a wave when we venture out for the day. Will definitely return with the older children. Swimming pool and gym onsite is a bonus
This was my first experience with Haven and I thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The whole process from start to finish was easy and straight forward and made very pleasant by constant updates and interaction via the app. Check-in was easy, the accomodation was lovely and clean & well equipped and the location was great too.nOne of the days there was an issue with heating and it turned out to be that the gas had run out. The bottle was changed and everything back to normal within 15 minutes of my call to reception.nThe whole park was clean and easy to navigate and staff were all really friendly and helpful.nThe checkout procedure was easy and hassle free too.nAll in all, everything this sort of holiday should be. I will definitely book again.
