Two words describes Richard and his work: ‘Gentle’ and ‘Genius’. I’ve just had my 4th and 5th implants and he and his wonderful team were super communicative, careful and without doubt just supremely gentle in doing their genius work… cannot recommend highly enough !!

I have just finished my fourth implant with Richard Gatenby. I am a qualified dental nurse but even I was nervous at first about having implants. However, I really did not want to contemplate having dentures. I was advised by Richard that implants would be my best option and I haven't looked back since. My experience has been amazing and I didn't even feel the initial local anaesthetic which totally numbed the area. Everything was explained stage by stage and I was reassured by his professional and confident approach. Throughout my treatment I have been impressed by the kindness and consideration shown towards me by Richard and his team. My treatment is now complete and my self confidence has improved 100% and my smile has been fully restored.

I lost a tooth about 12 years ago and opted for an implant which Mr Gatenby fitted for me. The actual procedure for placing the implant was not painful, nothing was rushed and at all stages the treatment was explained to me. It was very reassuring to be told what was happening as the treatment was being done. I just treat that as all my other teeth now, it feels no different and most of the time I forget it’s there. The colour was matched so carefully it just looks the same as my other teeth. Last year, I was in the unfortunate position of losing two upper back teeth in quite quick succession, so leaving me with little left to chew with on one side of my mouth. All the options were explained to me, but I had no hesitation in deciding to have two implants because of my experience with the first one. This time I had to have a bone graft as well which was successfully done at the same time as the implants being fitted. The new teeth have been fitted and after a few days feel like normal teeth and look so natural you wouldn’t know they were implants. If you want the job done properly, then you have to be a little bit patient, as between stages things have to have time to heal. The cost might put some people off, but I think of it as an investment as I effectively have 3 new teeth which are going to be there for the rest of my life, so I consider that good value for money. The highest compliment I can give, is that I have recommended Mr Gatenby and the team at NPD to a good friend of mine who wants an implant done. The treatment is carried out very professionally, the result is excellent and they give you great confidence because you feel you are in safe hands.

I had 2 dental implants carried out by Mr Gatenby in 2012. This was not a straightforward procedure, as bone grafting was required prior to the insertion of the implants. The treatment which I received from Richard and his team was excellent. Each stage of the procedure was discussed in detail, ensuring that I was confident with the planned treatment. I could not be more delighted with the result. I would not hesitate to recommend Richard to anyone who is thinking about  dental implantation.

My initial concerns about implants were quickly dispelled in the expert hands of Richard Gatenby.  At every stage in the process he was supremely skilful and very reassuring, explaining  everything as we went along, enabling me to feel confident and relaxed.  I could not have received better treatment from Mr Gatenby, aided by his excellent dental nurse.   No longer needing to wear a denture is a huge plus - the implants are excellent, look great.  Life is back to normal!   So pleased I decided to go ahead.

I have just completed Aug 2021 a course of treatment for two 'sinus lift' implants with Richard Gatenby and his Team.  Quite simply they rate 10 out of 10. Firstly for the success of the result - two new perfect natural looking teeth restoring my smile! and secondly for their professionalism in all aspects of patient care. I had lost two back teeth and it was not possible to have a bridge. My dentist referred me to Mr. Gatenby to discuss two implants to fill the quite large gap. Everything was explained very thoroughly and the treatment was carried out expertly. At every stage, I knew what to expect and the work was carried out very smoothly. The new teeth look and feel just like the old ones indeed quite a bit better because they are not worn down and riddled with fillings. I’d got used to the gap and the difference now the implants are in is tremendous. My mouth feels so much better and in balance. Implants are expensive - but after the inevitable route to tooth loss via  filling, root canal, crown, extraction it’s a huge relief to know no more treatment will be necessary. I’m delighted with the result and would recommend  Mr Gatenby and his team with no hesitation.

After 40 years of a missing front tooth, replaced by a bridge, I faced a denture or implants when the bridge support failed. I was referred to Richard Gatenby's Practice for a "state of the art" x-ray, and that was my lucky day. Richard agreed to do the implants at my request. His manner is friendly, caring and highly professional, and he explained what to expect, and what the various stages involved. This professionalism, based on years of experience, certainly inspires confidence, and he is ably assisted by his pleasant and helpful staff. The process is not without some discomfort; it would be untrue to state otherwise, since this was a surgical procedure. However, the discomfort was minimised, as far as possible, and the end result was so worthwhile. The process was largely carried out throughout the Coronavirus pandemic, but treatment was always as safe as possible for both dental team and patient alike. The result is a tremendous success - two implants supporting crowns that are beautifully shaped and colour matched, and wonderfully comfortable. I would have no hesitation in recommending Richard Gatenby .

Richard Gatenby was recommended to me by my dentist when the time came for me to discuss the option of having an implant fitted and it was easy to see why. The whole process from the initial consultation to completion was a very smooth and extremely professional experience from both Richard and his whole team Richard explains and photographs every step of the process so you are in no doubt what the procedure involves and you actually find yourself looking forward to the next step. One final point to illustrate how smooth an experience I had is the fact that my wife has actually now booked her consultation with Richard to have an implant and as someone who is not a fan of going to the dentist this in itself shows you how at ease Richard and his team make you feel. I had been having discussions about a dental implant with Richard Gatenby for many months, but it was my hesitation which held up the process as I was extremely anxious about having an implant done. I finally accepted to have the offered sedation, so the procedure was able to go ahead. I should have said yes much earlier as it was so easy and actually very pleasant! The sedation was given by a qualified anaesthetist Mona Trivedi, who was present throughout the entire procedure.  Right from the preparation, implant and follow up appointments, every process was explained thoroughly. Richard gently talks to you as he is carrying out the work, telling you what he is doing. I can honestly say that I did not experience any pain whilst undergoing the implant work.  I can thoroughly recommend Richard and his highly professional implant team and would not hesitate to go to him again should the need arise.
