Downstairs is where you will find good shoes for only ~£30. I would recommend a visit for all fashionistas. That being said, staff is not the most helpful and the environment is a little dusty and stuffy.
Staff were nice, polite and helpful to me, and they had a wide variety of very interesting and cool vintage pieces at a fair price. The shop did not have any sign of foul smell and the clothes were clean; not like how other reviews describe the shop. By far the coolest clothes shop I went to during my trip to London.
The most terribly organised business in London and the most horrific, unhelpful & rude staff. I phoned for a pair of shoes I wanted to double check they were still available and as soon as a guy from the staff confirmed, I made a 2-hour trip to get them. As soon as I arrived, they couldn’t find them and all the staff were completely apathetic and outraged with me! As if I was wrong… I urge everyone to never support a business like this and I hope the staff members start appreciating the fact they have work - a work which they shouldn’t have really.
The staff are nice if you are nice to them and don't expect a lot of money to sell in your old clothes that are worn. So many people go there and a really rude to the staff, it is no wonder there are bad reviews here. Just be nice to the staff and in return, they will be nice to you. Have been to this shop many times over the years, have sold a lot to them, have also purchased some amazing bargains. Long live Retro Man, must be tough keeping this business alive with the price of rent and rates.
Absolute wasted journey to the shop through incompotent staff. I had found parking in nearby Pembridge gardens & just before paying I called & asked if the 'Buyer' was there to which I was told they were so paid for parking and walked the 30 seconds round. The staff said they were not sure that the buyer was buying. I explained that I had just called so was asked to 'try' down stairs. Once there explained again to be told basically no. They were polite to be fair just absolutely useless time wasters. They could have told me no on the phone! I personally won't be dealing with them in the future.
Accused of being a thief when trying to sell honest goods, with I.D Horrible rude self centered staff. I thought I was a good quiet customer, from the vintage items from my honest house clearing business... Terrible prices paid for quality designer items. Give it a miss if your selling... you'll be raging at the prices offered. Honest! They'll pay you 1p an item for the bulk of your hoard. keep a close eye on them adding up their choices if anyone are thieves they are...! The place stinks of mold so I'd stay away...
I think you have to keep in mind when you're trading that they have to keep an eye on a lot of overheads, their rent must be sky high so its no wonder they offer practically little value when you trade, its a business, they have to make as much profit as possible to stay afloat. Sure it is a dusty old shop and the staff are pretty arrogant but it is what it is and the product is actually pretty decent compared to a lot of london vintage shops. Fair prices, interesting pieces and you'll always find a gem there when you go. Definately better value and charm than your rokits n beyond retros
Great customer service, great store
Stay away!!! Zero customer service, the place smells of mold, the items of clothes are mostly dirty as they don’t actually wash anything in that place, and the so called buyers can’t seem to tell the difference between Primark or Dover Street Market. The offers for the clothes are also laughable. The whole place is just stinky, extremely dusty and very dirty. Can’t stress enough. Stay Away!!
I took £3000+ worth of new-like new designer clothes to sell in there and all they could abruptly offer me was £50! Im actually in shock- this is one of the reasons my hope in humanity is soo low! How dishonest!!!!! Shame on you guys really
