Beautiful restaurant, so well decorated and designed. Outside cabins are stunning with blankets available for added comfort. Staff were very hands on. Food was presented beautifully and tasted wonderful; we had the risotto and the bean burger. There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options available, and a wide range if cuisine choices to suit everyone's preference Portion sizes were excellent value for the price. Desserts were perfect in both presentation and taste. Seats were very comfortable too so made for a fantastic overall dining experience. I will definitely return for more.
Been here a few times and never fails to disappoint. Food gorgeous and portion size is extremely good. Staff always super friendly, and always smiling . Girl was lovely that served us today, but didn't get her name. Had the beef roast dinner, and the gravy was lovely and thick. Biscoff cheesecake was spot on. 5 stars all the way
First time at the Adlington restaurant, but good to see the quality is just the same as the other locations. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for quality food and a good ambience. Was nice to see they made a very good quality smokey old fashioned.
Visited at lunchtime with family, and had a nice welcome, realising the restaurant used to be Sharju. The restaurant is in a former church and has been very well designed and decorated inside, with tables on the ground floor, and also on two full length balconies on each long side. The menu has a good selection of nibbles, starters and mains. At lunchtime weekdays a lunch menu is offered with smaller portions and costs. However fish and chips from the lunch menu was plenty to satisfy us. Additional seating is available outside in tented enclosures with table heaters.
We booked for our work Christmas meal. The food and atmosphere was excellent, the server was brilliant. We were particularly impressed with the restaurant's attitude when 2 of our parry couldn't attend last minute. They arranged for takeaway for them which was an extra special touch. We will look forward to celebrating with The Retreat again next year.
We have just had our first visit, the food was absolutely beautiful and the service from a young girl named Ellie was amazing very well mannered, she couldn't do enough for us. Very highly recommend.
Lovely and attentive staff, atmosphere very relaxed. Noted it to be very busy tonight although the service of meals and drinks were not delayed. Very accommodating considering no prior booking made. The menu is quite limited in my opinion but the meals on the menu are served to perfection. The style and decor is outstanding to look at in a church like building. Clean and covid safe environment to dine in. Also found staff checking our allergy status a good practice, never been asked this before.

Lovely restaurant, excellent ambience. Ate here on a first date. We both had a Sunday roast. Big size portion, food was excellent. Will be returning.
Nice place to eat. They have invested in the outside space and it's paid off. Lovely place to sit in the sun and eat, you're hidden from the road so it feels secluded from the high street. Didn't go inside. The food was nice, however, in my opinion I feel a little overpriced about £10 over The 2 portion kebabs didn't come with enough salad for 2. Glad, I ordered the fries. But the steak was cooked lovely and so was the Chicken.
