I visited The Retreat in Addington with a few friends and we all had a really good time. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and it was nice to see how quickly they checked in when our drinks were running low. It made the whole experience feel relaxed and well looked after.nnThe food was tasty and nicely presented — nothing overcomplicated, just good quality dishes that everyone enjoyed. Combined with the welcoming atmosphere, it made for a really enjoyable evening.nnOverall, The Retreat is a lovely spot for catching up with friends or marking a special occasion. Good food, great service, and a warm, relaxed vibe.nn½ 4.5/5 – Highly recommended.
Booked a table for my friends birthday 25 01 26 at 5pm.nwe was asked to wait at the bar as table wasn't ready.we where seated at our table within minutes. we ordered starter and mains was not asked if we have allergies!!! Which one of our party did. i ordered mussels which arrived cold there was no staff around to speak to. Waited over 70 minutes for our main meals. The chicken supreme i ordered was cold i had get the attention of the staff to say my food was cold i would expect staff to check back on the food served the food was taken away and brough back which was clearly microwaved as the plate was extremely hot not a fresh meal as the presentation was the same. My question is should food be served at least 63 degree and above to avoid harmful bacteria. we left very disappointed with the food and poor service there was no senior/management staff to speak to regarding this i I would hope i get a reply from my feed back
Lovely intimate atmosphere, ideal for our anniversary. Food exceeded our expectations and friendly helpful staff provided superb service.nRecommend to everyone

This was our first trip as a family to this delightful restaurant in a great location for our family being halfway between Preston and Manchester.nThe service, food and venue are amazing. We happened to come on a Wednesday evening with a special price menu, which was a bonus we didn’t know about before handnOur children said cheers to us as we were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. The ever attentive staff overheard this resulting in a complimentary prosecco for me and a candled dessert for my husband without any prompting.nService is everything in this day and age and I’d say this restaurant get 5 starsnWe look forward to making a return visit
