Seems all anyone wants to do on here is to slate the council over bad experiences... I mean theese are the people who empty our bins just so we can fill them again... they pick the litter up off the streets... to make a nicer place for us to live... and then we make a mess of it again... they put grit down on the streets... and the roads... to make it safer for all of us to get to our work or schools... just for it to snow or freeze over again... and when you dont have any heating.. they even come to your house and fix your Combi-Boiler because you stupidly turned the pressure up too high and broke it... yet they will be there for you... rain or shine... Can you not see... theese are the very people who are helping YOU and ME on a daily basis and never get any thanks for it... Sooo can I say a BIG MASSIVE well done to the FEGLAND PRINCESS for noticing the efforts of the Renfrewshire Community Meals Service amidst the the worst snowfall I have ever seen in Paisley... Thanks PRINCESS for making me see that the people of the council are the real unsung heroes out there and that they are to be praised rather than demoralised... Ask yourself this... "Whens the last time you actually helped someone?" I BET they said "THANKS" :-)

I reported a major issue with potholes on the road going to Bridge of Weir. I travel every morning from Paisley and it was very dangerous. However I have to say the next day they had the potholes worked on and within 2 days job complete. I must say that whenever I have reported a fault it has been dealt with very quickly.

I was unfortunate enough to be employed by NHSGG&C. I have a MS and rheumatoid arthritis. Recently I was dismissed on the grounds of incapacity, a decision I appealed. Mr Ian Nicolson, an elected Councillor in Renfrewshire sat on the panel which heard my appeal. During the proceedings the subject of a visual problem I have came up. To clarify, this is called inter nuclear opthalmoplegia and basically means I have peripheral double vision and have to have one lens of my distance glasses covered when walking outside unaccompanied. My employer's representative, Mr Paul Adams, stated that the fact that I couldn't see was justifiable reason for my dismissal - I was employed as an administrative worker, would have been working at a desk. Now this is a symptom of my illness and I found that comment both inflammatory and discriminatory. You would think that Mr Nicolson, as a Councillor, would speak out against this - no he kept quiet and was obviously more intertested in keeping whatever salary NHSGG&C pay him. Good people of Renfrewshire don't expect this man to speak up in any capacity for the disabled.

Over the passed few years i have reported several lighting and rubbish issues to Renfrewshire Council. These people simply do not care. Dead animals on road now turned into skeletal remains, despite numerious reports to have them removed, entire street lighting outages for months at a time and street lighting columns literally falling apart due to age and neglect. Worst council i have ever dealt with.
