I rang the registry office at 4.50pm knowing they shut at 5pm. It was only to ask a quick question but the lady I spoke to went above and beyond and ended up staying until nearly 5.30. She was extremely helpful and in no rush to get me off the phone. I would like to thank her so much for the time she took on my call and how helpful she was. As a result of the call, I'm now getting married on Good Friday.

Been waiting on the telephone for them to answer now for 29 minutes. How ridiculous is this !

Appointment was on time and I was dealt with in a sympathetic manner. However, as the title ONE STOP suggests I was expecting to be given oral or, preferably, written information on the next step, i.e. how to inform the Council Tax office of my change in circumstances. Perhaps this is carried out automatically, when the relevant information is logged on computer. There were several members of staff sitting behind the counters who could have enquired if I needed assistance, if it is only in quiet periods.
