What fantastic bar staff. We stopped here during a boating day trip. Had some fantastic food and good beer. What separates out the experience was the bar staff were incredibly friendly and fun. Helped make our day
Really lovely pub. The staff are lovely here and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Lovely views and very relaxing pub. We will definitely come here again.
Had a great experience and time at The Red Lion. The manager was at the door and asked what type of atmosphere we wanted seating by the pub or more relaxed setting in a quiet part of the pub. We picked the later. The setting was very well lit, clean and had the perfect vibe for a family supper. Victor, the head waiter served us and he was spot on. Really top service from him. Extremely friendly, professional and helpful. We ordered the châteaubriand done medium and the got it done perfectly a delicious cut of meat paired with the black pepper sauce and aioli it really complimented the meat flavours well, the onion rings were light, crispy and well seasoned and potato chips had a good crust and fluffy on the inside. The burger was delicious, patty was done medium and they again the chef cooked it to perfection. The burger is up there with the best I have had. Portion sizes were good and everyone was extremely happy. Compliments to the chef and staff again. Some photos below. Will definitely be visiting again soon.
This is a really nice pub set on the river bank, great if you’ve a boat and want to pop in for a pint or lunch! There is a busy-ish road that divides the river garden from the pub but don’t let that out you off as they have a mini-bar on site to serve you. Just keep an eye on kids. We just had a couple of pints today but the drinks list is fairly extensive, I’ve also eaten burgers here in the past which have been nice. I didn’t use the toilets on this occasion but they were fine last time. There’s a small but ample car park to the side of the pub as can be seen in my pics. Be careful when exiting as there’s often people crossing and cars whizzing by all at the same time!
Phenomenal for a Sunday roast. We got a cute little 6 seater private room to sit in outside. I had the lamb rump which was beautifully tender, some crisp roast potatoes and veggies with of course a Yorkie. They also have seating right by the river for a great view and the service was attentive and friendly!
One of the best pub roasts I’ve ever had…and I’ve had a lot of them! Excellent amount of crackling on pork belly which had a good crunch but not so much it hurts your teeth. Excellent Yorkshire and the veg was almost the best part! I’ve never had celeriac like it, just delicious! Beautiful pub and great atmosphere. We will definitely be back!
Yes. Yes. Yes. Great pub on the river. Has a docking if you arrive on a boat. Lovely atmosphere and cosy. Eat in or outside or right on the river. Service is excellent all friendly and professional. The food is Very Good. I had with my daughter 7 or 8 different tapas all of them exquisite. Sent my compliments to the chef. Bravi !!!!!!
Super friendly locals pub. Excellent food and very good service. Usual selection of beers and wines. First visit. Table of 5 with advanced booking. We tried a wide selection across the menu and all dishes were very well done. We were really well looked after on the Friday before Christmas. A very merry atmosphere.
Visited this pub on a Saturday night with with few friends. Had a booking the restaurant side. Visited after a long time and can honestly say the food has gone very down hill. The chicken popsticks were like something out of a frozen aisle, the pigs on blanket were the smallest things I have seen served on a massive plate lacked anything special.. prawns were okay, again not the quality to go with what they are charging. We skipped mains for that reason. The lady, who I think was a manager, was very arrogant in her approach. Lacking people skills and very aggressive in her approach to customers. Long story short, she told a young lad to leave the pub because he opened a window. Called the cops on him! The young staff behind the counter were top notch. Very friendly and very attentive. Shame really, as a group we spent over £400 that night.. didn't feel it was just.
Had a lovely evening. Did not get the gentleman's name who looked after us but he was utterly delightful. So polite, funny and attentive. Food was delicious - truffle parmesan fries a must try!
