I prebooked a table for 10 adults for a 40th birthday celebration...we were given the private function room which was a lovely touch & I could bring balloons & banners in & also a birthday cake earlier in the day which made it a lovely surprise for the birthday boy...we ordered the food & 3 of us ordered the mega mixed grill & 3 the mega fish & chips which is a tall order & to be honest they were all presented beautifully & cooked to absolute perfection & so were the other meals & they were all brought out together & were piping hot & the staff throughout the evening were lovely & friendly & very attentive checking that everything was ok & definite compliments to the chef & I would highly recommend this place for food & staff & we will most definitely be returning again. Dropped in to meet family, what a great atmosphere, very friendly and laid back, even allow dogs. There were tables reserved but still plenty of tables available. The menu was varied, food arrived piping hot and everything looked amazing when having a nosey at what others had ordered Superb play area for the children, plenty of parking. Would definitely recommend you pop in for a pint and see for yourself.
The food was lovely had burgers! The service not so much. I ordered a drink via the ap the first time and had to go up and get it as they never checked the receipts that came through. Ordered it a second time and still no drink after 20 mins they was no one getting served so wasn’t busy. Had to go up again to get it. Asked for some hot sauce and the lady said no problem, but it didn’t come? I’d understand if it was busy but it wasn’t. The 3 stars are solely for the food.
Customer service in here today is disgusting. Everyone has a face on, looking really unhappy with there jobs. Clearly a management problem, it seems to be run very lazy. 45 minute wait on with 3 tables in the restaurant and 5 tables in the play area. I have been a head chef for 8 years, I have run restaurants hitting 4k on food a day with 10-15minute waits. Something needs fixing. Maybe happy services and enjoyable work.
Amazing pub. Lovely and kind staff. Vegetarian friendly, great food prices. Friendly and social atmosphere. Definitely will becoming again with family!
I have been coming here for years, even had my daughters birthday parties in fuzzy eds. Last 2 occasions I have visited I have had to clean my own table, mop the floor due to spilled drinks before I have arrived so my kids don't slip, waiting 40 mins just for drinks. It really has gone down hill this year, and extremely disappointing as my kids love it here.
First star for the young lad who serverd us. He was clearly new to the job but seemed to be the only person serving/ waiting And did he well. Second star for the food it tasted ok. Mainly disappointed in everything else. Especially Portion size of children’s over 5 meals were so small. My 8 year olds all left the restaurant hungry and we had to take them through the drive through at McDonald’s. We won’t be returning.
Food order wrong, missing items. Made to eat starters and mains together because the kitchen was “closing”. This was 7:30pm on a Friday night. What pub closes a kitchen that early on a Friday night? Steaks overdone, no attempt to fix because the kitchen was “closed”. Used to be such a good pub, this visit was an absolute abomination. If I could rate zero stars, I would.
Quite disappointed. The restaurant was very quiet and there were 3 members of staff at the bar area but the tables and highchairs especially were filthy/ crusty, I had to clean them myself with wipes. The food was quite nice, although there were items missing such as onion rings maybe they were out I'm not sure we weren't told. It is advertised that kids eat for £1 with every adult meal but we were charged full price. When I queried this with staff who took the order Rosie? they said no we couldn't have them for £1, its over, holidays only, they're old menus and that was the end of that. All the lights where we were eating were turned off during our meal and we had to carry on best we could in relative darkness for the area we were sat where there were no windows or much natural light. There were no staff around and weren't told about any issues so I'm not sure why this was. Maybe they've started rationing the electric in preparation for the upcoming rise
Absolute shambles. Used to be ok, came today, waiting nearly 2 hours for food. Staff walking out of kitchen serving food while eating? Hopefully not a customers food. When confronted blamed a new starter. Manager failed to manage… sheepish tubby fella, side eyeing potential issues… I know we weren’t the only ones frustrated at terrible service. Would rather dine with Dahmer than go through that again
