This pub is exactly as it was when I visited 40 years ago keeping with tradition it's a good old fashioned snug pub with wooden tables and a few small rooms. Bar staff very good too. It's a local Old Colwyn pub but welcomes all comers.
Always a good pint of cask ale, would be nice to have the fire going.Service: 5/5
Very popular pub with excellent beer. Feels like a “proper pub” that probably hasn’t changed all that much over the years. A lot of people know each other and everyone is friendly. Well kept beer at very reasonable prices too.
Good pub good pint of bass happy daysService: 5/5
Came here for a Charity Function. I found it a tad over-crowded, as its a small pub. A decent amount raised on the night. Staff friendly, good atmosphere.
This is a great local pub. The real ale and cider choice and quality is second to none in the area and Thirsty Thursday means even better prices. The pub is very dog friendly and has a really nice covered "smoking" area out the back. Staff are excellent. Front bar has the Sport TVs and Pool table, back bar is a cosy drinking area. No food here - which is unusual these days but make the pub all the better.
Great pub! It was like stepping back in time. No music blasting, no-one absorbed in their phones, just real people having a beer, saying hello and having a good chat.
The"Red" maintains a warm, cosy atmosphere that places it at the hub of the local community. Very much a traditional pub but with a modern selection of craft beers. These are changed regularly so there is always something different to tempt your palate!!
A friendly local pub with a vast selection of ales usually about 9 or so and change during the night as barrels run dry, lagers, a few ciders and the usual collection of spirits. However, it is for the ales that you should go here. Very well kept, you're allowed to taste them before purchasing and I also recommend their promotion night, Thirsty Thursday where the beers are lower cost but still served with the same quality. It's a local too. Not all flash or fancy Dan. Just decent people enjoying decent beer in decent surroundings. Also good to visit when the Welsh rugby is on! :-
Very good local pub. Staff and locals friendly. Food isn't served at this pub.Service: 5/5
