If there was a negative option, I would have given the worst rating. Frankly speaking the receptionist is actually trying to drive the patients away. Being rude for absolutely no reason when I'm trying to get simple information and abruptly ending calls. This is no way to treat patients, let alone one that's registered to a GP in that practice. If you're thinking of registering here, highly recommend you look elsewhere because in the long-term you're going to regret it.
THE ISSUES: I am very very sorry to write this but this surgery is probably the worst in the country now. The doctors mean well, wanting to help people, i genuinely believe that they do. However since Covid the reception area has been a no go zone with a sofa barricading anyone from talking / going near them. this seems extreme, when you can go to festival, swimming baths, restaurants but you can't talk to a human being through Perspex screen over 2+ years since the covid outbreak. Last week I filled out the form, that’s the only way to book an appointment. You phone up and get told to fill the form out and are told bye bye. Each time you have to fill the online form out you have to fill your name address, telephone each time and put in your issues, 3 - 4 pages long. its sadly quicker to order a pizza from Deliveroo than make a Doctor’s appointment. This week I am still waiting on a response from this GP surgery, a week later nothing, I wasn't even sure they received my filled out form, did i fill it out properly? Did I remember to hit submit? so i had to phone the number. They eventually answered after 10 mins that’s actually pretty fast for the RHS they had received it to which a receptionist apologized. i said it had been sat there for a whole week. THE ACTION At the end of the day the service is simply appalling and pathetic, the surgery is fundamentally broken. The system is broken, leaving people stranded without a way of easily getting hold of a doctor when they need them. I really think it’s about time we begin writing to our MP regarding the service at this surgery. It's the only way this place is going to provide an adequate level of care for people. They have tried to fix things to relive staff stress, I get that, but they have only made things worse for the patients in the process. THE SOLUTION 1 Make a phone app for appointments, this way your details will be kept and you won’t have to fill out the form each time, fast and easy. we have an NHS number for a reason, use it! 2 Remove the barricade at reception so people can actually talk to a human receptionist. Its almost 2023 not the time period of the French revolution and its embarrassing. 3 Get more admin staff to cover people being sick to deal with this complete mess so people wont have to go to addenbrooks costing the NHS far more money. i really did not want to write any of this but each month this pratices get worse and worse and worse. i cant see it ever getting better without a huge shift in managment or joined up thinking. i'll probably get struck off now just for telling the truth about this, i am in no way looking to blame anyone but things are the worst i have ever experinced at this pratice and someone has to try and sort it out.
Disgusting quality of service. The GP looking at my thyroid function tests on the phone asks me "did I have my thyroid removed?", after my answer "no", they said that everything was fine with me and canceled the hormones without permission. My disease is incurable, I have to take hormones all my life, after the cancellation of the treatment, which lasted in another country since 2016, I got worse. Through the fault of the doctor, now I am forced to go to another country for treatment due to bad consequences. All other studies are denied. The doctor prescribed to drink vitamins. The results of the tests for the infectious disease specialist in English were sent to the clinic by mail for the doctor and they were ignored
This is my third GP practice in Cambridge, and by far the worst one in terms of organisation. Nowadays you can't even call them - you have to fill in an online form, and the form is only available in working hours surely the advantage of an ONLINE FORM is that you can use it at any time?. It is next to impossible to actually get an appointment, I think they're making the experience as unpleasant as possible to put people off.
I've been with the surgery for many years and have always found the staff to act with great care, patience and understanding. The online form is an excellent additional way to communicate
After explaining my bowel issues to Dr Salmon waited for the telephone appointment for 3 weeks his answer was :”So?”….didn’t get any concrete help I decided to change GP and find out that my colon had a serious inflammation. Stay away from this place, you’ll find better help in other GPs
I have no idea why this GP is still running. It is not a GP. It is not concerned about your heath problems or pain etc… this GP needs to manage better and support people who needs support. - they don’t call you back to say your blood appointment has been cancelled. - they will tell you to fill up a form and hear nothing from them. - they will say the doctor will ring you. Which they do. Which was the only sympathy we got from a healthcare professional but a follow up .. nothing. I had a better GP in the past when I lived in Kings Lynn. I’ve never come across an appalling service like this. I recommend people to do not register to this GP unless you don’t care about your health.
Absolutely amazingly great service from all at the surgery today. I used your new - very new- on line booking system this morning as advised on phone , whilst still waiting in line on the phone to get a receptionist to speak to. By the time I had entered details, been sent a verification code, on my mobile, I was moved up to number 7 from initial 17 on house phone , Dr Marriott had read my details, rung me and arranged a 3.30 face to face appointment this afternoon with Dr Benetta. Absolutely superb consultation and other investigations happened this afternoon.Although it involved a short wait - in the surgery - I was very pleased that all necessary investigations were carried out today .Can't ask for more , very well done to you all and thanks. horrible horrible receptionists, don’t care about your health concers, impossible to talk to a human being, everything HAS to be done online. one particular senior doctor is a dismissive, cold, unprofessional man. doesn’t care about his suicidal patients or abusive households because he has “too many people to deal with”!! would never recommend this surgery to anyone apart from the few LOVELY doctors such as Dr Foo, Dr Sophie, Dr Kapadia who are all so caring and professional : but how this surgery is run is ALL WRONG!!
Saw my child at 5:45pm and only called 15 minutes before. Dr Marriot is the best for families.
