A simple pub not too far from Bishop Auckland. 3 ales available, although choices on our visit were not overly adventurous. A good range of home cooked food on offer. Be aware that this pub closes between lunch and dinner suggesting they rely upon food service. Handily close to bus stops with regular Arriva services (1&5). A relaxed setting to sit and enjoy.

First impressions, good prices. Meals very good, well cooked and ample portions. Freshly cooked, waiting time not too long. Drinks, general pub brands but looked after. Will return.

Wasn't very happy on my latest visit as the food, I ordered Hunters Chicken was very dry as there wasn't much BBQ sauce on it and meal came with no salad which I presumed was part of the meal. The area which we where seated in near the kitchen was cramped and as soon as the table next to us became occupied we could hardly move our arms to eat our food, will be giving this venue a miss for the foreseeable future unfortunately.

First time here for a meal. Went with another couple. So pleased we did. The food is amazing and fantastic value. We didn't realize it was steak night which we all opted for. £13-95 for 2 steak meals with all the trimmings and two glasses of wine. The steaks were cooked to perfection and to everyone's liking, the chips were the best ever and portions unreal. Will we be back, that's a no brainer - most definitely. Give it a whirl I doubt you'll be disappointed

Amazing food and very reasonably priced. Proper home cooked food. Will definitely be going back.
