The best value food I have eaten in the North East of England. All of the courses were very well cooked, the service was excellent, friendly and personalised with food arriving promptly. The NZ white wine was good and or favourite dish was the stick toffee pudding for dessert! Would highly recommend this restaurant to the people of the NE!
Not a good experience, unfortunately. Unable to make a pina colada, although it's on the cocktail menu; can't make a cappuccino as they don't know how to use the machine; dessert was served with a soup spoon 'as they didn't have any clean dessert spoons'. Food delicious but service very slow. Need more staff and definitely need training. Won't be back
Gorgeous cocktail to start followed by a really lovely 3 course meal which was very good value. Owner was very friendly and chatty and ambience welcoming. Will definitely go back again.
Awful meals, undercooked, bland, tough and insipid. Decor is splendid, staff are friendly, drinks are fine. So disappointed as I really wanted to patronise this venue.
As a visitor to this restaurant on several occassions over a few years i can reccomend this establishment if you like nice well cooked well presented food. Not the cheapest but i feel you get value for money.
My husband is a little tight when it comes to spending eating out, but to quote him as we walked home, ' that' s the best twenty quid I 've spent on food I can remember.

When I found my meal under the mountain of chips,onion rings, salad etc etc it was very good. Shame about the waste of chips and veg.
