My dad was here for 2 weeks respite with a view for longer term care. The care home has recently been renovated, so it looks beautiful & the intention of the home appears good. Unfortunately my dad's experience there was not good. He was on a floor with 8-9 other older people with very little staff support. He was left on his own for extended periods, no one read his care plan, so, despite having dementia & being incontinent, he wasn't showered or helped to dress for 5 days, nor was he given support to attend activities. At times, there was no staff member on the floor for 20-30 minutes at a time. When we sought to raise these issues with the home we were told the manager was away, so we had to wait 4 days. When challenged about this, particularly as my dad was only there 2 weeks, we were told to send feedback to the head office. The response was reasonable, to a point, but it didn't accept responsibility for the poor care of my dad. At £1400 a week this really isn't good enough. Since then, my dad has had respite at Mossdale in York. The difference has been like night and day. The staff to resident ratio is amazing, the love & care they have shown towards my dad is also amazing. It's not hard. But currently Rawcliffe doesn't seem to get this.
Beautiful looking home ,initially management were very reassuring. However there was a significant lack of care re provision of some equipment to support personal care. Despite reassurance that there would be regular checks., these did not always happen ! Mum was alone for long periods of time. There was very few staff visible on many occasions.nManagement always said the right thing but care and care plans often not followed through by carers. This had a major detrimental effect on her health. Sadly I would absolutely not recommend this home
Where do I start. A dementia unit that has long been unfit for purpose. High turnover of staff, with very little supervision of residents, and an distinct inability to keep track of their residents medical needs. My Grandmother is a resident with you, and with a recent CQC outcome of the unit being inadequate, you gave hollow reassurances that you would improve the care provided and the unit would not be closing. I have now been informed that a mere few months down the line Four Season Health Care have decided to shut the unit. It is morally reprehensible for a private company to provide such a lacklustre service to the local authority, with profit being your bottom line clearly, and simply decide you are going to shut the unit on a whim despite making promises to the contrary. Do you realise how damaging that is to the health of your very vulnerable residents? Dementia patients need care and consistency, a sudden upheaval like this can in many cases be fatal! At this point I have to question whether Four Seasons Health Care should have any involvement in social care at all. They have demonstrated themselves to be entirely inept, and devoid of moral values.
Fantastic Care Home with fantastic employees. My relative stayed for respite care and they just couldn’t do enough for her. She enjoyed all the planned activities mostly the Gardening Club and is really looking forward to coming back. Thank you
My dad was there for 5 weeks until he sadly passed away..I stayed with him for a week at the end of his life ..all the staff were amazing with my dad and i would recommend this care home to anyone
