Came here for lunch, had the katsu curry. It was really nice! But my favourite pudding EVER was from here! The biscoff cheesecake! Unreal! I want to go back just for this!!!! Staff were really lovely too. Looking forward to returning asap.
We've been living not for from here for a while and not been in so we decided to pay a visit and grab a bite to eat. It did not disappoint. The beer was great and the roast beef dinner we ordered was delicious. The serving was a generous size and even though I was feeling full after about 3/4 of the meal, it was that good I simply had to get it down me. Very nice sticky Toffee pudding for dessert and we can definitely say we'll be back. Thanks.
Absolutely love this pub. Over the years Ive been a good handful of times and over these years I've heard great reports about how good the menu is and how good the food along with the service was too. People recommend certain foods all the time and usually because of the hype they build I'm left disappointed. This is a million miles from the truth about the Ranken Arms. I've never had a disappointing meal here ever. Neither have any of my family or friends who attended the meals too. The food is done perfect. The portions are spot on. The service and speed was second to none and with the staff being so attentive, helpful, engaging and polite it makes coming here a real treat. The last time I was here my group liked to make paying hard work by doing it all individually. The staff didn't hesitate and got the whole thing itemised and sorted properly. We got our booking later in the evening and this worked really well as we got to keep our table and have front row seats to the artist for that night. Even the entertainment was quality. I'd recommend to anyone to head the the Ranken Arms. You won't be disappointed.
Just been for a lovely late lunch at The Ranken. Service was excellent, food was great and the atmosphere nice and chilled. I had the American Hot pizza which was really well cooked. A nice, thin crust, hand-stretched pizza with plenty of but not too much jalapeño and pepperoni. The wife had the 'famous' cheese and onion pie which was also delicious. Reasonably priced too. We like it here and will visit again soon. Thank you all
We visiting relatives nearby and went to the pub for the evening. Plenty of places to park either in front of the pub or in the surrounding roads, a warm welcome to us and our dogs, cannot fault the food it was excellent, be warned the sandwiches are a meal on their own. Great staff, very friendly attentive when needed but not in your face, just how we like it. Very highly recommended, next time we are up that area again we will definitely pop in for a meal.
Fish and Chips 10/10 the best home made chips I’ve had for a long time. Staff lovely, service great, lots to choose from in a good way food came out piping hot. Big thumbs up all round the table. Definitely coming back, thanks :
Amazing evening all round. Beautiful interior & friendly atmosphere. Wendy and her staff so welcoming and the food was top notch as always The entertainment of the evening was the Cher Tribute absolutely bang on. The best cher tribute I have ever seen. 5*
Went for lunch with some of the girls from work. I had heard good things about this place, people at work rave about the food so we were expecting good things. I had the Steak Canadian hot sandwich, which didn't come out very hot. It was ok but nothing to write home about. The best thing on the plate was the coleslaw.
Amazing food, quality atmosphere. So much going on here from 80's/90's nights, tribute acts and Christmas markets. The staff are so lovely and the food, wow! You're missing out if you haven't tried it here.
