The house was owned by German gold and diamond explorer. They had extensive collection of jewellery, paintings and items. Fantastic house and it’s small but surprisingly quite a lot to see. Bridgeton used the front of the house in the drama, which I knew it was always the case. There children friendly activities like puzzle and drawing in the house. Parking is free except a couple of the hours during the day Monday to Friday. The phots are not allowed inside the house, but we still had a good time in the house. It’s part of English Heritage site so it’s free entry for members.
I love collections like this where you have such a variety of beautiful items brought together and reflecting the owners artistic tastes. I actually didn't realise you couldn't take photos as no one said anything and there were no signs. There are over 700 items on display across the two floors of this house. Perhaps my favourite items were the incredibly beautiful and intricate jewellery and the Renaissance Ceramics; the Maiolica on display here is tin-glazed pottery decorated in bright colours from 15th/16th Century.
Interesting place to visit. The Wernher collection is incredible to see. Sadly you cannot take any pictures. The facade of this house was used in BridgertonVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
Beautiful mansion in London used as the Bridgertons house in the Netflix series. Quite small but charming. I didn't go inside though, it was already closed at that time. You can also visit the Greenwich Park which is pretty close to the Rangers house and worth the look.Visited onWeekdayReservation recommendedNot sure
What a beautiful place! The art work and furniture is absolutely stunning! I loved this place so much and the volunteers that work there are very in formative.
Couldn't go inside due to COVID, but it's a beautiful looking building and worth a look if you're in the area. Used as the main house of the Bridgerton family in the Netflix show Bridgerton.
*please note images are from the rose garden behind the rangers house, english heritage request no images are taken inside the property* The Ranger's house is a 5 minute wall from my house. I have lived in Lewisham for almost 3 years and I can't believe I have never been here before. The art collection is fantastic. There is even a Botticelli painting in there!!! The staff here are incredibly knowledgeable about the collection and offered a lot of insight into both the art collection and the Ranger's house. This is one of the best things to do in Greenwich but I don't feel as though I hear many people talk about it! If you are in South East London - make sure sure you include this - you definitly won't regret it.
Adored this place ! The only negative I could think of is the no photos policy, which is a shame as every room is full of beautiful ornaments and I honestly wanted to photograph everything! Staff were also friendly and helped guide me around Overall price is £10, which is pretty good value! I spent around 2 hours there not only looking at the exhibits, but also reading the guides and infoboxes. If you're into history definitely recommend picking up the books they have in each room, it explains each painting/artifact in greater detail. Overall layout of the house is fairly easy to navigate, and the artifacts are all numbered so you can easily read up on it in the books
You are not allowed to take photos to the collection. However, it really worthy a visit for an hour! Fabulous artworks and beautiful rooms, with the best sculpture presenting love.
Lovely villa with a good collection of paintings and other precious pieces
