Haven't been there for a little while but I enjoyed the food. It's a bit pricier that your average Indian but you get what you pay for and it is worth it. They have an impressive selection of wine and a great atmosphere.And another great thing is that you can pop downstairs to the best cocktail bar in Bristol, Hausbar after your meal, if you're not too full that is!
Rajpoot restaurant is proud to serve a large number of people for 3 successive decades. They have sustained a great name due to their inclination towards ensuring quality Indian traditional food through fine dining and takeaway food service. The culinary expertise is based upon years of experience as they have managed to cover several Indian regions when it comes to offering Indian food. They have maintained the charm of fine Indian food, its tastes, and its spices and above all made it available to the people of Bristol for enjoying the original taste of every Indian dish which they could only dream of while living in Bristol, UK. The staff shows great hospitality towards the customers- making them visit our restaurant again for fine dining and takeaway food service as well. They make each customer feel special and hence promise utter courteousness while serving the food. The perfect ambiance makes customers relax and have home-like-food at our restaurant. Taking Indian dining to a higher level which others only claim but promise to ensure. Dine in or avail the takeaway service for real Indian food!
It is one of the most horrible experiences. We had reserved a table in advance and were at the restaurant atleast 10 minutes early, but still the staff could not arrange a table for us. I would not any body in their proper senses to visit this plan. The food is horrible, they did not bring us what we had ordered. In fact, they did not even know the difference between red and white wine. Also the presentation of the food was horrible. After all this, they brought us a incorrect bill.
Quite literally the worse service I have ever experienced - easily the most abnoxious place i, or any of the people with me, have ever tried ! to eat in. We were more than eager to eat here, but after the unfriendly welcome and then the pints of Cobra beer that were UNDRINKABLE as they tasted so off, we had to leave. We would have been happy with an apology and replacement drinks but instead all we got was argument from the very grumpy waiter, telling us how wrong we were. Unfortunately my girlfriend insisted on paying for the mostly undrunk beers - we were more than justified to just leave. It leaves me wondering how bad the food is. The sooner this place goes under, the better. If you want to be treated like a human being and eat good food as well, go a little further down whiteladies road to piazza di roma where we went afterward and had a great meal or the black boy inn, another fantastic place around here. Note that this Rajpoot is not affiliated with the Rajpoot in Bath, which apparently is excellent.
I had the prawn jalfrezi. I was disappointed. The prawns and sauce were bland with no real flavour of texture beyond the chilli. Service was indifferent. Premium prices were not justified by the food. I won't be going back.
One of the best Indian restaurants in town and really stands out as the flavours are quite a bit more refined than many will have come to expect from Indian food.
Always the best quality with serious thick sauces in dishes unlike watery dishes at other places. Excellent every time I went there:
