Rajdoot Restaurant

About

Fine Indian cuisine since 1966, and the first to have served Tandoori specialties in Europe.

Story

Rajdoot Manchester has been serving delicacies to customers for nearly 50 years and was the first Tandoori restaurant in Europe to open in 1966. Located under the depths of Albert Square, Rajdoot Manchester gives a sense of escapism to Moglai inspired interiors, where guests can enjoy an authentic dining experience in an atmospheric and ambient setting.

The tandoori story began and is now history. Our enthusiasm to bring you traditional, real Indian cuisine continues to excel.

Amazing warm service and food from Rajdoot - it’s one of my favourite places to go when visiting Manchester. Sant, Jamuna and Imran made sure we had the best experience. The chilli garlic and coriander naan and the momo was to die for and we left full bellies and leftovers. Would 100% recommend!Food: 5/5
Yesterday, my wife and I had an amazing lunch at Rajdoot. With an excellent location and an amazing atmosphere, this place is a must-have if you're in Mancehester and enjoy indian food. The place has been around for more than 50 years, and its food does it justice! We had the launch menu, I ordereed shish kekab as a started and chilli chicken garlic as a main dish, both absolutely amazing! Imran our server was very nice, and they gave us sweet naan braed, with honey and nuts, as a courtesy, mind-blowing! Kid-friendliness: Had our 1-year old baby with us and they were very accommodating.
This is one of the best Indian restaurants in Manchester have had to dine. The ambience was relaxing. The staff were really friendly while the food was amazing especially home made deserts. Had a great customer Service by one sujata. Didn't get to pick the name well. felt so happy and definitely going to be returning back.Food: 5/5
Love it, food was great, service was great, forget all the new swanky,so called trendy places, nice change to actually dine in an authentic Indian restaurant that feels like an Indian restaurant, definitely worth a lookFood: 5/5
Stunning food. A wonderful family run restaurant. The food is so fresh and tender, and the flavour is 100%. Anytime we get to Manchester, we have always gone here for dinner. Very reasonably priced for city centre. And you certainly don't leave hungry. Our daughter has ranked this her 2nd favourite Indian restaurant but 1st for the poppadoms, and she loves her grub!!
Fantastic restaurant and excellent food! Was a little dubious at the start with the location and if it would be too tourist focused as we are local but we went with some friends who recommended the restaurant and had a fantastic time. Great food, lovely atmosphere and would really recommend :Food: 5/5
We just had lunch at this restaurant the food was delicious, service excellent, I would highly recommend going at lunchtime price for 2 course meal was a really food deal my highest compliments to the chef and Imran our waiter .Food: 5/5
Disappointed!!! This restaurant is not suited for Ind/Pak Asians; most curries taste overly tomato-based, and the portion sizes are quite small. We were hoping for more variety and quality. The only positive was the ambience, but we were truly disappointed, especially since all the dishes we tried were supposed chef specialties. Staff were warm and welcoming, we appreciate that.
I visited Rajdoot whilst on a family trip to Manchester. I was welcomed warmly by happy staff and seated at our table. The waiter, Imran, was quick and attentive throughout, helping us to choose a wonderful variety of dishes. The food was lovely. We were stuffed and had some to take home. All in all, a top meal, and we will certainly be back.
Had a really lovely and enjoyable meal. Catered for me perfectly being a vegan. Staff were attentive. The atmosphere was absolutely lovely. Would definitely recommend this restaurant Dietary restrictions: Catered for me brilliantly being a vegan
