Authentic Indian cuisine at Monument London

Story

Rajasthan Restaurant seeks to redefine the common Indian dining experience, and elevate the cuisine to a status not usually enjoyed and achieved by other curry houses. Diners at Rajasthan enjoy culinary taste of Mogul India, not something other curry houses can match.

The menu comprises of Indian food as it should be, with robust aromas, glowing colours, earthy flavours and the evocative taste of exotic masalas. Diners at Rajasthan enjoy an amalgam of exciting freshly ground spices specially blended uniquely for each individual dish by its devoted chefs.

All dishes are cooked to authentic recipes; whilst subtle regional dishes, especially recipes based on rich Rajasthan specialities not found in other curry houses is enjoyed. Fusion food is becoming increasingly interesting as it is popular, Rajasthan will accommodate the popular palette with its own Rajasthanian interpretation, as well as providing dishes for the culinary purist.

I’ve been coming here since 2006. I know the staff very well the food and service is always good. I’m surprised there are reviews mentioning the price. It’s the city of london and I still feel it is well priced for the city too. No complaints from me. Taken so many friends here and never had any issues. Great restaurant. I love the mango chutney and the Keema naan Vegetarian options: My friend is a vegetarian and we eat here regularly. Wheelchair accessibility: There’s stairs
A fantastic menu and the food was delicious. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Will definitely eat here again. Greetings from Germany
My partner and I are in London for just a few days, we were told by multiple people that the Indian food here is delicious, so we decided to dine at The Rajasthan. The food was so delicious! I typically do not handle spicy food well, which I shared with our waiter, and he recommended a delicious dish. My partner on the other hand loves spicy food, and another great recommendation was made. On top of the delicious food, the staff was so attentive and kind, in addition to offering their recommendations on the menu items they checked up on us multiple times and and cleared the table as fast as possible after a dish was finished. Highly recommend stopping here if you want a delicious Indian meal!
Went with a group of around 10. We had pre-booked so they were aware of the size. Found a hair in the food but they didn’t bother to take it seriously. The waiter covered the hair with a naan! A naan….The plate was stained too. Food average. No salt or seasoning. Atmosphere average. The waiters were quite abrupt and rude. They didn’t listen to anything. I tried to tell them about the hair but was ignored. I asked for extra pilau and the waiter said, “he ordered for you” but everyone was ordering their own dishes. They were taking food items away that weren’t finished. When asking about allergies, they just pointed to the menu and said, “that”. Avoid.
I recently dined here and I wish could give zero stars for service, unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. It was a hot day when we entered the restaurant, having brown skin we were offered corner table despite the restaurant was not busy maybe they didn't wanted to spoil their aesthetic. They created unpleasant atmosphere indicating to leave the restaurant. While, I was having a bite of poppadom from my plate they shifted my plate. They were waiting for us to finish the food and roaming continuously to grab plates from table, it was unpleasant dining experience, their staff interrupted us during our meal multiple time.. I felt extremely discriminated here. I won't be returning here and would not recommend it to others. There are much better dining options in the area.
We were here a few years ago and had a memorable meal. Searched it out again today and we loved it again! Can highly recommend the quality food and professional serviceFood: 5/5
This was so great. The food was tasty, very friendly staff. The most amazing thing was, that the boss remembered my colleague, who was visiting the restaurant 15 years ago frequently, by name. Will be my favorite when visiting London more often!Food: 5/5
We arrived quite late but they seated us and we proceeded to order. The food was actually quite good and, whilst not cheap, fair enough given the location. The problem was that as the clock got close to eleven, one of the waiting staff turned into an arse - telling us the they shut at eleven and we should hurry up and go home. I stress this was one guy and the other staff were smiley enough but did nothing about their rude colleague. I checked my Apple wallet this morning and I paid at 10:55, so it’s not like we were burning the midnight oil. Shame really because, as I said, the food was pretty good. But I won’t tolerate being treated like an inconvenience instead of a customer, so I won’t be back.
I’ve been dining here for maybe 10 years and have must have visited on at least 50 occasions. There’s a reason for that. The food’s delicious. A friend of mine and discerning gourmand if ever there was one has been known on occasion to indulge in a solo lunchtime meal he enjoys it so much. I normally opt for the slow cooked Lamb Jalfrezi or slow cooked lamb Rezalla and definitely recommend both. If you’re looking for a proper fill-up I’d also recommend the Onion Bhajis. These have a subtle aniseed flavour which I’m guessing is fennel. Finally, my go-to beverage of choice at the Raj is lager. There are two options – Kingfisher and Cobra. What’s not to like about that? Tasty!
I am a regular at this restaurant, as it is close to office and a good place to catch up with friends and colleagues over some very nice indian food. The staff goes above and beyond to cater for a friend of mine with special dietary requirements. They are always very polite, service is fast even when the restaurant is full, and the limoncello on the house at the end of the meal a nice option.
