Lovely owner! Had my watch back up and running within the hour. Also fixed my shoes that were falling apart they look brand new again. Very appreciative !
Had my brown dress shoes soles replaced and some stitching done on the caps. The result was terrible. Very poor uneven stitching. There is glue on the shoe where some of the stitching was done which discolors the leather. When asked for a partial refund the owner was very rude refusing to refund and stating this was the best quality work you can find. £60 down the drain. I will not be going back and do not recommend.
4 pairs of shoes I've had resoled there have always been done to a high standard and it was cheaper than getting them sent away with my dry cleaning. Efficient and fast service with great quality and care!
Do not go here! There is no honest business happening here. When you take your shoes to be fixed, you will pay on advanced. That is because when you see your shoes you would not really pay for them ruining them. The service is the rudest in the world. I went there to ask if they have these clickers that are used to switch on lights. I had a sample one in my work keys. The guy took my keys and said come back in five minutes. I said that I feel uncomfortable leaving my keys with him. He then took the metal clicker from my key ring and hold on to it. I felt very uncomfortable. As I went back I had gotten a call from my boss saying that I do not have to buy the clicker. They said that I would still need to pay 6.99 because they made it for me. I said that I never asked them to made it for me and thought that the guy is going to the back room to get one. I also pointed out that they never told me the price and I was under the impression that I would come back and make my decision then. I never thought that me asking them if they have one is a contract for them to make me one. They refused to give me back the one that they took from my key ring unless I pay them. Absolutely criminal behavior. Well, I let them hold on to both of them and walked to Leyland where you can buy one at 2.29. I will never go back and neither should you. By the way this rating system forces you to give at least one star but as you can imagine if possible I would not give even that.
Key cutting service very overpriced £17 for 2 keys compared with £3 down the road for the same key last time Only was told the price after they had put in the the machine and was too late so said I had to pay and even had to pay in cash. Avoid!
Keys cut incorrectly and refused a refund. Server was repeatedly rude and extremely dismissive. Keys would not fit in the door, bought on a Friday and then found out they didn't work so had to get replacements anyway not at his shop. Have paid twice now and know he has overcharged me £18, whereas the other shop was £10. When I disputed the fact he wouldn't refund, he said he would come to my house and make the key work. Highly irregular to offer such a service?
Horrendous! I do not think I have ever been treated so rudely in any shop, ever. I took a key in here to be cut and stupidly did not ask the price as I was not expecting it to be much over £3.50 a price I paid recently for another key to be cut elsewhere - ok my not asking was a mistake. The two men in the shop told me to go away and return in 15-20 minutes to let them cut the key despite this being a shop that claims "keys cut while you wait" and I being the only person in the shop. On return the machinist took the new key in his hand gave it to me and demanded £9.99! I asked to see my original key alongside the cut key to ensure it matched and was told I could not see or have my key until I had paid. I said it was not usual to pay until a customer had had the chance to see the original key alongside the cut key. I was refused, twice more. I changed my tone, they got angry and demanded the money. I was alone in the shop and quite frankly I now felt intimidated. They refused again to give me the original key unless I paid so unfortunately, really stupidly I paid. My key was finally given to me. I took the two keys and looked at them and noticed the "original" had been damaged along one side, and that the fresh key still had spare metal attached that should have been filed off. I complained. The men said the keys were perfectly fine, they always did a good job, and that if I wanted anything else I should do it myself but " you can't can you, you cannot cut keys"! They thought this was hilarious. No I cannot cut keys, and yes I was a joke for paying them. Why were they so rude? This should have been a straightforward service transaction. Usually key cutters are proud to show their skill by holding the two keys up together to prove they match before payment is given. And I have a right as a consumer to examine the purchase before payment and I was refused. They did not give me my money back. I cannot immediately check whether the keys will work because they were for my mother's house which is a distance away. Even though you may think this is a useful shop near the Clapham Common underground I strongly advise you to find somewhere else. I agree with one of the other reviewers that the charge is way over the odds, certainly much more expensive than a key cutting venue on Lavender Hill which is where I will return to next time. Avoid this shop!
Crooks and bullies. The two men in this store charged my 75 year old mother £25 for a key to be cut. They originally said £20 when she asked them, then they demanded £29 after they took her key. Similar to the other posts here they refused to give back her key even when she said she didn’t want it cut anymore. She felt she had no choice but to pay them. They then turned nasty when she asked for a receipt and turned aggressive eventually ejecting her from the shop. The experience left her traumatised and shaken. I would have called the police had I been there myself. Disgusting behaviour. Only gave one star because I had to in order to leave a review.
