I came here for the roast and was pleasantly surprised. The portion sizes are better than others, although 3 courses will run you around £30 a person. There are additions such as cauliflower cheese that are very nice, but were a little expensive. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the environment within is nice. I would recommend it, especially if some other local roasts had portions that seemed a little small.
Typical above average gastro pub of which there are many but must mention the staff here. It was a hot busy day and just 3 front of house ladies who were absolutely charming, attentive and friendly. Making time to chat and regularly ask if they could enhance our experience in anyway possible. A big thankyou from us for a lovely afternoon
Great pub, lovely food, really friendly staff. Had a working lunch here today and had a very pleasant experience. Staff were really accommodating and their service was excellent. Food was really good. Multiple fish and chips, and sandwich combos. All very tasty and great portion size. Stayed for a couple of hours after in the bar to continue working and was made to feel very welcome doing so. Cannot thank you enough for a very enjoyable Friday afternoon at work.
Once again, The Queens College Arms succeeds in proving consistently great food. Perfectly cooked, wonderful presentation and good value for money. Our meals were delivered piping hot, and very quickly. If you want a traditional Sunday roast, in beautiful Hampshire countryside surroundings, you would be hard pressed to beat this great English pub. Well worth the trip out. We will happily visit again and again!!
We haven't been in ages but it was lovely being back. Great food, great service and nothing too much trouble. Thank you.
Very enjoyable. Food very good except beef a little tough and also perhaps not quite enough pork. Crackling was delicious! Puddings lovely. Staff friendly, obliging and efficient. Will certainly go again.
Very disappointed. Came with a group of girls for our Christmas Dinner. We have been regular customers for years and have always had a gorgeous time. Not last night. Very dry food, not enough gravy or sauces. Roast potatoes were dry and tasteless, sprouts were hard and bouncy, Yorkshire pudding tasted like cardboard. I didn't eat most of my main, which is not like me. One of us asked for more gravy but service was so slow, she had almost finished by the time it came. Had to ask for more cranberry sauce too as portions were so small. Dessert was not much better. We asked for more custard but ended up turning away the hot sticky pud as it had gone cold and there was still no sign of the custard, despite reminders. We mentioned this during and after the meal but no-one seemed that bothered or apologetic. All in all a very disappointing night. After years of lovely times at the QCA, we may not come back. Sorry.
Came here with friends yesterday for Sunday lunch. The COVID-19 procedures were all very clear and the staff were very helpful/knowledgable. Everywhere was immaculately clean and they clearly have this down to a T. Lunch was wonderful - plenty of meat, unlimited Yorkshire puddings and loads of veg too. We all agreed the food was delicious! Ordering for the whole menu both food and drinks was preferred through their secure website. This was quick ans easy and they take Apple Pay online so was definitely secure. Whatever we ordered was brought out within a couple of minutes - again, well rehearsed and clearly how they work routinely now. We wouldn’t hesitate to visit again and can’t wait to try out other menu items! Thanks for a wonderful time.
We booked a time online, and arrived a little early. There was just one other table dining, and we were seated right next to them... another party arrived and also placed next to the original table, so there were three tables, all in line.... no other diners arrived, so we thought this arrangement a bit odd. Food was OK, but the special Tropical Fruit crumble was a little burned.. Friendly service.
The Sunday roast was delicious and freshly made, the portion size was impressive. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There's a wide selection of beers and a lovely outside area.
