Had a lovely dinner at the queen's head this week. Me and the Mrs had 2 random dishes that worked perfectly and tasted great. Her fish (I forget the type) was accompanied with chicken wings? And my pork belly was on a bed of risotto? Not pairings I've ever seen before but both dishes were very tasty, cooked to perfection and made for a lovely visit!

Queen's head in Hawkshead is a Robinson's pub in the centre of of the village. It's very pkeasent. Staff is always helpful and friendly.  Bit expensive to eat in but the food is lovely. It have a small outdoor sitting area. Very good for people watching.

We just stopped here for a drink in the afternoon. I must say the barman is a real asset to the place - very friendly and welcoming and made friends with our dogs. We will definitely be going back here on our next trip to the lakes to sample the food. Oh yes: the beer was excellent too!
