We enjoyed this place. They got 7 of us in inside an hour and were honest that they were a little short staffed and to expect service to be a little slower than ususal. I would say that they did very well considering, plus the food was excellent and flavourful. A couple of our party had the fish which they mentioned was the best that they had had in some considerable time. The Guinea Fowl was excellent as were the vegetarian options. There were plenty of other guests on a Thursday night and all were enjoying food and a few glasses of wine. Seemed an older crowd but certainly raucous enough! The chef had a fantastic sense of humour as well and she was pitching in to help out take orders etc which was great to see. Would definitely visit again.
Mixed experience really. Group booking for 6. Nice enough atmosphere, the food was good and service was excellent from the majority of the staff. Unfortunately the chef let the service down by being pushy when taking our initial order and final payment, and belittling her staff in front of us. Uncomfortable experience. Also an expensive bottle of wine was added to our bill in error which we picked up on the next day.
Lovely gem of a restaurant in Leamington. Been here a few times over the years. Laura and her team are very welcoming and all very pleasant. Great place to wine and dine and at ease as I don't like being rushed between courses which is often the case nowadays. The three courses we had were exceptional.
I've been in Leamington for 10 years and I'm so sad I didn't try Queans before. This is such an amazing place. A 3 course meal with wine will be about £50 a head, but every pence is worth it. The food is fantastic, the presentation is flawless and the portion are more than adequate. No way you'll leave Queans hungry. Laura is a great host and you'll definitely be treated as a friend. Please give it a try you won't be disappointed.
Excellent experience at Queans. Was asked on booking whether it was for a special occasion and arrived to birthday wishes and a decorated table. Delicious food, very generous portions and impeccable service. The selection of homemade ice cream was really special. Can't wait to go back.
I've been there a couple of times. Once for lunch, once for dinner. Both experiences have been beyond expectations. Lovely service. Wonderful food. Good selection of wine. Not even mentioning their homemade ice-cream that will make you want to eat ice even if it's snowing outside. I'll surely go again.
Very cosy little restaurant with a dedicated and attentive team of floor staff. Not the place to go if you're looking for a quick bite, but a pleasant atmosphere to enjoy conversation with good company whilst you wait for your food and digest between courses. The food itself was well-presented and utterly delicious; I was particularly impressed by the cheese selection and left feeling full and deeply content. The weekday set menu is reasonably-priced considering the standard of the food. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends.
Queans is one of my favourite restaurants to frequent. The atmosphere is laid back and friendly. The staff are helpful and very attentive. The owner and chef, Laura, comes out personally to take your order which is a nice touch. The food served here is first class with inventive food combinations and all cooked to perfection. I recall a Guardian journalist reviewing it a few years ago and he was in disbelief that it did not have a Michelin star. It is that good. Go and find out for yourself.
We have loved Queans since we discovered it 8 years ago. It is the perfect place for a romantic dinner or a bubbly reunion. They always treat us so well and make us feel welcome. The food is always amazing - the flavours complement each other perfectly. The ice-cream is to die for and thank goodness it is now being sold at selected shops in Leamington Spa. Highly recommended!
Had lunch here on a weekday, ambience was relaxed and ideal for both a formal or relaxed meal. The food was delicious, I had the Sea Bream for main and the amazing Ice Quean for dessert. The best ice cream I have had outside of Italy. Attentive waitress. Will be going back again!!
