Same brand as Malt Shovel but slightly bigger and more space outdoors with some nice covered areas for rainy days. Good food and especially recommended the carvery on Saturday and Sunday.
Great food, staff are warm and friendly and bar and restaurant very clean and welcoming. They serve up a lovely carvery as well. Would have given a 5 star rating but the toilet facilities are shocking, was thinking of starting a charity box to save the poor things. Toilets in desperate need of renovation. Other than that a pleasant experience.
Still going strong after many years of being away. A treat to return to and enjoy good wholesome food in a traditional pub and warm environment. An amazing self-serve roast was also on offer. A must-go for local dining served by friendly and obliging staff.
Good place to eat went for a carvery. Lovely food and staff. Short staffed but that's the same everywhere and they did the best they can. Will go back again as it's was a nice atmosphere for a Sunday.
Staff were amazing as was the good apart from the standard fish and chips. Will try the ultimate next time to see if it is an improvement. But I'm planning on going again as there carvery is lush!!!
Me and my family have just came out for a Calvary, we were very very disappointed. The meat was tough, the roast potatoes were aunt Bessie’s frozen, cabbage was moldy, the stuffing was burnt and sticking. The whole meal was cold the Yorkshire pudding were like rocks and not eatable. When we complained to the staff to get our money back, we got the money but then felt very uncomfortable as kept looking over at our table. Not only did we have an awful experience the family opposite us had the wrong meal delivered when they were when they selac. Absolutely disgusting never ever ever coming again !!!!
You always get a nice welcome and the carvery is excellent, we have never had a bad meal or experience there. We have visited with family and friends who are disabled or have poor mobility and where possible they make sure we get a good table with easy access. Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of parking and dropped kerbs to allow wheelchair and walking frame access.
Chain Public house offering expected range of food and drink - we had carvery which was very good and served by a very pleasant chef. Choice of three meats and a multitude of vegetables! The bar service was however quite slow and as I walked to the carvery area I saw that behind the bar was very dirty - overflowing bins - coats on floor - unwashed glasses and a general mess which was rather off putting! The toilets rather resembled the bar area and required attention and toilet paper!!. Plenty of parking spaces and disabled parking available. Electric car charging parking bay available. Full disability access throughout and disabled toilet. Staff pleasant and polite - just needs a little more attention to cleanliness
Huge pub restaurant that has very generous portions of food. I would say that this pub is my to go to pub in Bridgwater. I'll definitely be using this place everytime I visit Bridgwater from now on. The staff were exceptionally polite and helpful. Well done..
From the moment we walked in we should of known to turn around again! No one to greet us, waited 5 mins to be shown to a table. When seated at the table, not even asked if we would like drinks before ordering, I guess that's the norm here, but not something we are used to! Then told to use the app to order. No one was at Carvery to serve, when I first went round, I even rang the bell and still no one so went back to my seat..They had to be shouted out to serve Carvery was awful, dried out food that had obviously been sat there for ages. Maybe the time of day we went, but even so appalling. Meat was tough and chewy, roast potatoes, definitely didn't look roasted, and had never seen such small and white roast potatoes in my life! I am a roast potato addict and this wasn't good. No Stuffing, is this wven a Carvery without it? Vegetables were again dried out, mash had a crust on the top that the Carvery guy stirred into the mash. It's such a shame as just moved to the area and I love a Carvery. It wasn't hot, just lukewarm. Couldn't eat it all as so bad, was hungry so did eat some in the hope the taste would improve, how wrong was I. It always goes on first impressions, and ours wasn't great at all I afraid to say, and we were so looking forward to our food, and the place looked great. So, an update on our first visit, we were invited back for a visit, and this time was completely different. Service was great, and I went for a Carvery again, just to see if things were different this time around, and they mosy definitely were! The meat was all fresh and hot, and the beef was amazing, very tasty, lovely, and lean. Lots of lovely veg, amazingly tasty new potatoes I did prefer the new potatoes to the roasties as well as great mash. Everything was piping hot this time, and I couldn't eat it all, due to being so full!. Great food and great service. Thank you to all the staff. We will definitely be back now. This deserved a re review by us. A very happy customer now.
