Booked parking here when staying overnight in the adjacent Hilton hotel for the Strictly tour with my disabled mum. The whole process from booking on the app to arriving and leaving worked flawlessly. I thought the cost was not too bad considering it's location and convenience and got a discount with Blue Light too. The only reason for 4 not 5 stars was that we couldn't identify the location of the disabled parking spots on the app before travelling and they didn't appear to be clearly signposted on arrival but that could be our mistake.
Perfect location to park in the centre of Birmingham.nWe pre booked online and went straight in and out without any issues.nIt was nearly full on the Saturday evening we went to the Hippodrome Theatre so I’m glad we pre booked.nVery handy for The Sea Life Centre, Symphony Hall and Brindley Place with its array of restaurants, bars and shops.
Car park was okay. Though spaces were very tight in size.nPuddles of pee everywhere. Though that’s less the car park’s fault more a human issue.nnBut the electric charging! Dire. The worst system I’ve come across by far and if you own an electric car, you’ll know there’s a lot of bad ones out there but this one took the biscuit.
This is a great car park, literally across the pedestrian bridge from the Utilita Arena. You exit and turn left to walk over the river. There are also loads of eateries there and a coffee shop, with a nice little yard and a water feature. We let the kids blow off a little steam running around.nnThe car park itself has an EV charging level. As soon as you enter, it’s the level in front of you, marked as -1. You’ll need to download the Blink app and more importantly, have your own charging lead. The price is approx 72p /kwh, expensive but extremely convenient. Sine we were finishing late at the arena, this was the easiest option for charging our car.nnThe best approach is to pre-book and pay in advance. The car park is intelligently managed: if you arrive slightly earlier than planned, charging simply starts earlier, and if you leave a little later than your booking, the additional time is charged at the same standard rate rather than as a penalty. This worked particularly well for us, as it took longer than expected to exit due to the crowds, resulting in an overstay of around 20 minutes. It was reassuring to see that we were simply charged the usual rate.nnOn exit, although the barrier light turned green, the barrier itself did not lift. Others were exiting fine so it may have been an isolated fault. However, the intercom was operational even at 10:30 pm and connected us directly to head office. They were able to verify our details promptly and release the barrier. Overall, it was a very impressive and well-run car park, and it made the experience noticeably easier, especially when travelling with children.
Perfect location for the Utilita arena, just a short walk over the canal and really quick on the way out. Have used a few times now, pre booking the vip parking really helps you exit quickly if you have a long drive after a gig.
