Incredibly busy, queues down the road in the morning, easily 30mins just to get in and then good luck finding a space! With limited parking options, plan ahead if you want to be on time to any appointments!
Really disappointed by the lack of goodwill shown by this company. My wife and myself had to check in to the women’s hospital last Wednesdy morning for induced labour. This took far longer than expected with us eventually having to travel to another hospital. In the end the car ended up being parked here for around 36 hours. Looking at the tariffs it looks like the next step up from the 24 hours tariff is a weekly tariff which is what I expected to pay around £28. When I came to check out and drive to another hospital on Thursday evening, I was charged over £40 two 24 hour charges. I emailed the company to ask if I could just get the difference between the weekly charge and what I paid back but was told it was “customer choice” and so I couldn’t get a refund. How a medical procedure taking longer than expected and forcing us to stay in hospital longer is “customer choice” is beyond me. I don’t know why the weekly tariff doesn’t automatically kick in when you stay over 24 hours as who in their right mind would spend £40 rather than £28 on parking? I’d hoped for some good will from this company after I explained the circumstances but clearly business interests trump patient interests for this company.nnUpdate: in fairness, I contacted QE who spoke to the management of the company who manage the car park; they said I’d not received the correct advice. After a conversation with one of the managers they refunded the difference between a weekly ticket and 2 x 24 hour tickets
It's well lit and the spaces are a reasonable size, although it gets full very quickly and people often double park. There are also very long queues so make sure you leave plenty of time if attending an appointment.nnCharges are the same as the rest of the hospital car parks.nnIt has not got the best signs when you are trying to leave so it can be confusing knowing which level you are on and where the exit is.nnIt's pay on exit at the machine on ground level, takes card and cash.nnDisabled parking is free and there are plenty of disabled spaces.nnYou can get a weekly ticket if you press the buzzer at the machine and talk to the attendant.
Took 36 mins of circling to find a parking space here, so I got charged for 2 hours parking instead of the 40 mins I actually spent parked in a space. And signage is terrible, the only way I knew some of the car parks on site weren't for public use was when the barrier wouldn't lift for me and I had to reverse back.
The car park itself is structurally good but it's the layout and the lack of proper signposting that's the problem. So, if you've never been there before, it's confusing.
