I feel a little bad for giving this a 3 star but I can't help but feel disappointed. Was quite excited to go to this so when I got there it wasn't as big as I had thought, although super easy to get in on what felt like a busy day. Very affordable for an adult just £4.50. My issue was the size and just felt like it needed some TLC, it's a cool place and was tired with a lot of things covered in tape, one thing not quite fixed. For kids I'm sure it's great, but adults perhaps less so. Having said that, I loved being able to do the photos in the rooms which was the best part.
Fun for all ages! We all had a blast checking out all the optical illusions and holograms, although mummy couldn't handle the tilted room. Short and sweet and worth every penny.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Excellent addition to the Lake District wet weather programme. Takes about three quarters of an hour to cover most things but can keep younger ones talking about it for ages. The sloping room is really tricky so be careful if you go in as an adult, your bound to barge into a wall. But good fun, only downside is the writing explaining the visuals can be small and hard to read if you are taller.
This was an amazing place to visit! 2 grown women having the laugh of our lives! Well worth it, absolutely loved itVisited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Located on a first floor, mid-way in Museum square not exactly where google puts it but close. There is a stair and no lift. There are a lot of puzzling exhibits. It would have been great to have a guide. It takes about 45 min to see it all. Great place to visit for a rainy day.
Absolutely love this place. We go every time we're in the lakes. Dog friendly too so we had a right laugh getting some funny photos with our lab.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
When in Keswick, this is a place that needs to go on your list of places to visit. Located in between the well known Lakeland Toys and Hobbies shop, you could be forgiven for walking right past it, not realising it was there. Head up the stairs and you enter a place of puzzles and illusions. The shop allows you to buy a range of puzzles and illusions as well as a host of other gifts too. The price of entry is small, considering you can take as long as you like in the Puzzling Place as you work your way around the illusions presented to you. We spent an hour checking out the illusions, gravity room, hologram room and much more. This place comes recommended if you have some spare time on your hands when in Keswick and need to entertain the younger ones. I just wish I had one of those magic mirrors in my house that makes you look thin!
10/10 very fun and interesting! Was highly recommended and didn’t disappoint! Would definitely recommend!! The website does state walkins are okay except when it’s school holidays to manage the amount of people attending at one time so keep this in mind?Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo wait
Smashing place. No need to queue we arrived at 1.30 on a Wednesday during school holidays. We stayed a couple of hours. Kids absolutely loved it. Kids are 11 and 10. Puzzling and interesting illusions adults enjoyed too. You could buy tickets in advance but we paid on the day. Good price for the amount of fun we had. Top tip ..go round twice as we missed quite a bit on first way around. Warning you exit through shop. The kids loved taking photos of illusions and chatted about the place on way home. It cost £15.00 for a family ticket. No toilet though!
This place really is worth a visit. Simple place, fun and educational, no loos so go beforehand! Good for adults, kids, and big kids too! Both my wife and I really had fun here! The little rooms are the highlights for me, especially the gravity room and the big / little room!! It's all about perspective!
