I would give zero stars if possible. An absolutely terrible gym. Smells very badly. The equipment is never maintained. The layout lacks strategy as there are way too many broken cardio machines. On the other hand there is minimal to none other equipment that you would desire in a commercial gym of this size. The staff are depressing— they do not smile or engage and are too quickly replaced.
Please fix the “automatic” doors that won’t open even when green button is pressed- people get stuck in the gym!!!
This gym has been a very disappointing experience. My phone was recently stolen in the workout area, and when we checked the CCTV footage, it was shocking to see how ineffective the system is. The cameras are outdated, with poor quality, frequent recording gaps, and numerous blind spots—making it easy for thefts to occur without being detected.nnWhen I reported the incident, the staff mentioned that similar cases have happened before, which is very concerning. It shows that theft is a recurring issue here, yet nothing substantial has been done to improve security. A gym should be a safe place for members, but unfortunately, PureGym Wembley does not provide that reassurance.
Great gym! It has all the equipment needed and the staff are very friendly and willing to help. It’s also in a great location, right in the middle of Wembley high street.
I currently have a membership at The Gym Group in Wembley Central. Recently, I noticed an offer for a 3-day free pass and thought, “Why not? Let’s give it another shot.” After visiting again, I’ve decided to share some honest feedback. Not just as a member, but as someone who cares about the potential of this gym. Unfortunately, the reality is that things have barely changed in years, and that says a lot.nAtmospherenThe overall vibe is depressing. The gym is dark, gloomy, and uninviting. On top of that, it feels warm and stuffy—even when the weather outside isn’t hot. Better ventilation and a cooler temperature would make a world of difference.nStaffnCredit where it’s due, the staff are friendly and interact well with members. That’s one of the few positives.nEquipmentnHere’s where things really need addressing:n- The plate-loaded incline press is fantastic—love that machine.n- Two smith machines are a plus, and I’ll give you that. All the gyms in Wembley only have onen- Let’s talk about the benches: honestly, they’re the worst I’ve ever seen. Unsafe, unstable, and completely worn out. Wobbly benches is asking for an injury especially when lifting heavy.nSuggestions for Improvement That Should’ve Happened Years Agon- please Increase the lighting. I get that your theme is black, but the lack of outdoor light makes the gym feel like a cave. Brightening it up isn’t a luxury—it’s basic member experience.n- Please replace the benches urgently. These have been here for years, and they’re falling apart. Look at Magnum Multi-Adjustable Bench LP. If you can’t even provide stable benches, what does that say about the standards here?n- Please try and get new plates. Some rubber is peeling off, and it looks cheap. Other branches have branded PG plates—why not Wembley?n- Better attachments. The current metal D-handles aren’t great. The black Matrix ones with rubber grips would be a major upgrade. I will give you props for the condition of your rope attachment. the ones in the gym group is an absolute biohazard.n- Please consider adding a hip thrust machine. It doesn’t require huge space and could easily fit next to the hamstring curl.n- Please more cleaning stations. If you want hygiene, make it easy. Right now, it’s inconvenient for all the lazy people. max it at least 6 steps away from different sections. Add stations near squat racks, treadmills, and between back and leg machines. Yes, it’ll cost more in paper towels, but what’s more important—hygiene or saving pennies?nDo a monthly member ballot. Ask people what they want. You’ll be surprised how much goodwill that creates. Not only that but it will really open your eyes to what members think about the gym.nnWhen you reply, please don’t give me that same copy-paste response: “Thanks for your feedback, we’ll pass it on.” That’s exactly why nothing changes. Actually discuss this with your team and reflect. None of these points are crazy—they’re basic improvements that should’ve happened years ago. It feels selfish when you’ve got hundreds of members paying monthly and they don’t see a single change.nThe worst part? A manager who can see the same problems every single day, read reviews like this, and still does nothing. That’s not just lazy, that’s straight gluttonous . Taking all that money and not reinvesting a penny into the member experience. At some point, it’s not ignorance, it’s a choice to ignore. Members deserve better.
