Lovely hand made sweets. Good variety and always fresh. Very friendly owner who always loves a chat and remembers her customers. Happy to help with information about ingredients and let's us know if they are making any special treats and when to come in for them. Went here a lot when we lived in Southampton, but now we only get to visit once a year. Always stop her to get a big order before we leave.
Indian sweet mart food should ideally be similar to all the other sweet Marts unfortunately this place is very different. The food seems very sub standard in quality, something missing, maybe it’s just the way their recipes are but those of us who know the real taste of Indian sweets and snacks will definitely find it it hard to digest. Not having any info on sugar and salt per 100g of food is bit annoying because these are basic metric measurements which would help a customer decide if product is too sugary or salty for them. Overall I found the products not suitable for my taste, quality, price, value.
Amazing place! What a discovery. Friendly staff, beautiful sweet treats, catering for anyone who still eats glucose or fructose! In the top 3 for me in Southampton for a sugar fix... their savoury snacks are cheap and taste like they're made with love too...
Lovely helpful lady served me and made up a beautiful box of sweets for me to give as a gift. We bought some extras for ourselves and they were absolutely delicious. Well worth the journey to get the real deal! Highly recommend- we will return for more very soon.
This is an honest review from one of the regular customer of this shop. 1. This shop is based in Southampton, being the only Indian sweet shop in S'ton, saves you bit of time to go and buy the sweets from London. 2. The sweets are not of good quality or of good standards, if you have ever had Nirala or Amabala, or any other decent place from London, you are not going to like the sweets from this shop. 3. The sweets are over sweet/extra sugar than usual, and they feel too heavy, probably they use flour in all sweets, even gazrela and barfi. Their pieces are like 100 gram each probably or heavier, not a decent size, first time ever I saw to be honest. 4. They sell the fried frozen samosas rather than making them fresh and the fillings are almost empty, please avoid buying those snacks. 5. Sweets such as jalebi or any other occasional sweets type, you are not going to get them fresh, they are maybe friend from morning or the day before. 6. THEY DO NOT TAKE CARD PAYMENTS< THERE IS NO CASH MACHINE IN ONE MILE RADIUS< PLEASE BE AWARE< WHY DON'T THEY DO IT? NEED NOT TO MENTION, PROBABLY DECLARING LESS TURNOVER FOR TAXES. 7. If you have a bit of standard on Indian sweets, you will notice straightaway that these sweets are a scam. 8. I normally buy the parshad from them as there is no other shop, my purchase is very compulsive one rather than a willing one. If I travel to London, I always buy the sweets from there but not possible to go there every time to buy only sweets. IF YOU CAN< PLEASE AVOID.
We keep coming back! An asset to Southampton, especially to the vegetarian, vegan, and ethically conscious community. We love trying Indian sweets also, they're like nothing I've tasted before. Plenty are gluten free also as they're made with chickpea flour.
Number one quality. Very honest lady owner. Good range of sweets and snacks. My kids only like sweets from Puja. Avoid dealing with male staff there probably owner's husband. He argues a lot with no good reasons and don't answer what asked to.
worst RasMalai we ever had... The milk was thinner than water and there was no sugar in it and also the rasgullas were not so good. The overall experience was really bad and we have wasted £8. Will never buy from this shop. It's better to make this at home In a traditional RasMalai... The milk is proper boiled in saffron until you get a thick consistency and the Rasgullas will be then dropped into the milk and it will be garnished with Pistachios
This little Indian sweet shop is a gem. Having come from London this one matches alot of them. Kachori is fresh usually and Indian sweets are tasty. Only one problem should really take card payments.
I wanted to buy some Indian sweets for an alternative dinner party pudding. The sweets were amazing and my friends were wowed! I'd definitely pop in again next time I'm in Southampton :
