Got to this establishment after 1am, so paid £6 to get in. People and floors were a bit messy but this is likely to have been because of the late hour. Having said that, the ladies toilets were clean and had supplies even at 3am. Nice music, but didn't seem like there was a lot of choice of drinks. Shout out to the bouncers and security who were present all night and were friendly. Wouldn't have an issue to go back again.
Not a pleasurable experience. It seems none of the staff want to be there so the welcome is very cold. I ordered a drink, the bar staff got it wrong, she pushed the drink towards me telling me I had to have it, I said no I didn't order that, she huffed and puffed with tons off attitude, which she was doing before her error then shoved the new drink at me yelling at me to be clear next time. Come on love, I did repeat it to you 3 times. Overall the foul undertones of the place ruins it.
I've been to this club a good few times, and the music is good, the bar staff are really friendly and I believe it's run really well in general. BUT.. as a lot of these reviews, security is a problem. I understand they have to have a certain approach and have little time to have small talk as it probably is best that they aren't distracted until truly needed. A sensitive event happened to me there last night. I understand the stereotypical culture of gay men in gay night clubs. I've worked in a gay venue myself and customers can be a little touchy. But as a customer in there last night, I had a large muscle guy approach me multiple times. Starting off really friendly and I politely declined all his offers, from drinks to sex. But he started getting angrier and angrier that I wasn't interested? Asking why I'm in this club if I'm not looking? My business surely? ANYWAY, after sexually harassing me, he started sexually assaulting me every time he walked past me. Leading up to him following me to the toilets and pushing me against the wall, DEMANDING I touch him. I was intimidated After some strongs words from me and fighting him off. I decided to ask security for help. I told them all of what had happened. Instead of letting me finish my concern, he laughed at me. Twice! ''It's what you're here for mate, enjoy it'' If I was a female, would his response be different? Or even more worryingly, does this just get ignored? I felt extremely uncomfortable and had to leave this venue. The 3 stars is for the venue, management and bar staff. You lose 2 for incorrect/insensitive training of your security.
Visited Propaganda for the first time over a year ago when it was a beach party night and had a brilliant time thinking it was a great LGBT club to feel comfortable and confident in, knowing that I was in the company of other LGBT people. Went again last night with my mate hoping for an equally good time but as the night wore on it became evident that it was no longer a LGBT club where we can feel confident and comfortable but just another standard club open to the masses. I don't think I'll be returning.
They took my drinks from the table before I finish them, and after talking to the manager, she threatened me to kick me out. It was not polite at all, it was not respectful, and it was not right. I wont be going to that club any more. It was my first and last time!! Too much heat inside, it smells too bad, and it is not for a fun night! I was there in the summertime
OK place what I'd expect from a night club was a bit warm and not enough staff behind the bar. There was about 10 bouncers on site. I only have one regret and that was not talking to the attractive girl there but because I was the driver for the evening I wasnt drinking so had no confidence
Awful. The staff are incredibly rude, the door staff and door policy is awful, the venue is far too hot they never have the most basic of mixers such as ginger beer. It's generally a terrible venue and they are just monopolising on being the only gay bar in Nottingham, save your money and have a better night elsewhere.
Great place to dance! Good music and dance floor. Has a sort of 3 tired dance floor and another raised plinth with some poles. Drinks aren't majorly expensive, especially on a Wednesday. It's worth grabbing a flyer from people around the Hockley area to get a couple of quid off entrance. It's the only club I know of in the area that is open till 5 in the morning, which is good for a late one + early McBreakfast + first bus back :D
Security is airport style carried out by seemingly a poorly trained single bouncer. No information or warning of what you will be subjected to and no permission sought. He just went straight ahead without invitation. I'm not sure how legal the body searches are. In my own case very intrusive and intimate bordering on "inappropriate" in my opinion. To my knowledge this place has had problems with security in the past resulting in the replacing of the company responsible. However, replacing the company does not necessarily mean that the same bouncers will not simply migrate from one company to another and find their way back on the same door. I understand the need to prevent persons who may pose a threat to the safety of other patrons but the method should be proportional, informed and carried out in the presence of two members of staff with a polite explanation offered beforehand and an opportunity to decline. This does not happen. As for the rest of the experience it was fairly good with cheerful bar staff great ambience and lighting.
Reported to PASS for refusing legal ID. I run Anti-Knife UK a national non-profit in Nottingham and was considering visiting to review their venue but their bouncer was abusive and told me to get lost with a government approved ID CItizenCard. I am absolutely disgusted. I even showed him my Anti-Knife UK ID telling him I wasn't going to be drinking just reviewing.
