Truly stunning park.. FREE.. great for all ages. The gardens, grounds and old buildings are very well kept. There is parking free. Not so much so try to go on days not so busy. There is also a small cafe for drinks and food, or take your own and have a picnic. in the grounds there is a kids play area and also very nice duck ponds.
There was a Teddy bear hunt in the Priory. Lovely open space to explore. Swings , ducks, bandstand, cafe, toilets, visitor centre, tennis courts.
Great park in Southend. They have wonderful wall gardens. Very quiet and amazing trees. It's a nice place just to stroll away and enjoy.
Lovely park with a beautiful old bandstand and mature trees. The bandstand has regular live music. There is a nice cafe near to the bandstand serving hot and cold food and drinks. There is a large open field area and a lake and several paved walking areas. The park is spoilt slightly by totally inadequate car parking spaces. After driving through the park 3-4 times, we eventually had to park in a side road outside the park. This could make it difficult for the infirm or disabled.
Winter work on paths so one exit blocked. The cafe next to the priory is a great place to bring your dog for a coffee as it were!. The staff are very welcoming and conversations are easy to get into. Toilets nice and clean too. Rest of park is as well tended as funding allows. Very pleasant, even on a dull November afternoon.
Wonderful park in the heart of Southend. The park has a heritage and interesting place in local social history and the Priory Museum / Old Hall are often open for visitors. There are extended gardens and hidden spots to enjoy as well as an amazing playground with zip line for kids under 10 I'd say. Duck ponds, bandstand and a cafe serving Korean !? food!
I love Priory Park, it has something for everyone of all ages. A cafe, live music at certain times of the year. A bowls green football fields, lakes for fishing and ducks & Swans. Childrens play areas that I remember as a child over 65 years ago. I love to relax in the flower garden areas. And a wonderful museum to learn of the history of the park .
It's a lovely park. Be it summer or winter. So much to look round. Lovely gardens. And big green fields on both sides. Its nicely kept and looked after. In the summer the priory house it's open to the public. Kids and us love going to this park . Lovely walk round and round. There is a kids play ground with so much to do and keep them entertained for hours and hours. Brilliant
Lovely park. It’s the longest continuously occupied building 900 years in Southend-on-Sea. They have live music at the bandstand every Saturday and Sunday afternoon from the end of June to the end of September. Explorer the Priory grounds and walled garden while you’re there.
A park I never knew had so much history. So many hidden features and parks within parks. I really enjoyed my first walk around this park in the winter. I can imagine in the summer its equally as beautiful and with just as much to see and do.
