As a G.P. receptionist i know the daily challenges practices face with ever increasing public demands and expectations.I cannot fault the care and attention myself and my husband have received over the past year or so at Tynemouth and north shields, particularly from Dr Clark.We both very much appreciate it.!
Been with this surgery for ever. Nice staff and a few good doctors but they really need to look at their appt system. Takes forever to get thru. Then u r told to call at 8.30 to get an appt that's if u can get thru Other practices are doing this better. Just release on the day appts and people can ring up any time of day. They are creating a bottleneck. Very frustrating
Pleasant, helpful receptionists, pharmacists and nursing staff with doctors who listen. I can’t fault the way I have been dealt with by all the staff at Priory. I have used all three surgeries over the last few years and the high standards are across the board.
Can't understand for the life of me why they still haven't managed to sort out a decent line that will actually put you on hold at half 8 in the morning, instead of just getting the engaged tone over and over. It's an absolute joke!
Received a call after bloods that i was to get a call to speak to Pharmacist in a weeks time. Week later i get an email saying i have missed an appointment. Mentioned I was told someone would call me when it was booked, to be told i was supposed to come in. Rebooked for the week after. Attended practice to be told it would be a phone call not an appointment. Went home got the call and went on meds 3 weeks after initial call. Pharmacist said they would cancel my appointment for the week after to give it time for meds to get into my system. Week later got a email saying i missed appointment. Called explained and rebooked. Then get a letter with a warning about missing appointments. Honestly no wonder the NHS is a mess, the systems they are using don't tell them anything and left and right hand are not communicating. Why they cant have 1 unified system that has all the records, appointments, calls, medication, history is crazy and if they do it falls on human incompetence.
Receptionists are always lovely, and super helpful. I’ve had some very bad experiences with other surgeries in the past, but can’t fault Priority medical group North Shields. Always go out of their way to help :
You just don't get he support you need, and there seems to be no compassion at all with the reception staff. Its just very matter of fact. You spend 30-60 minutes on hold to be told the usual thing to ring back at 08:30 the next morning for an appointment. Then you can't get through, then you repeat all week. I don't understand how you can't ring on Tuesday for an appointment later in the week and its not possible; especially when e-consult tells me that I need to contact my GP. Very poorly ran doctors surgery regardless of all the usual excuses/caveats
They aren't equipped for the amount of patients they have. There's some lovely nurse staff and a few cracking doctors but generally it's managed poorly. Their automated phoneline is ending calls frequently after large waits on hold. If they got their acts together they'd be alot better. Shame about all the good staff really.
It is a complete waste of time trying to phone this surgery. You need to actually go there to make an appointment! I am seriously considering going elsewhere. ALL staff can be quite incompetent most of the time. No one seems to care!
Constantly busy and on hold then told one thing what do so you do what it says and still wrong
