My condition of Hallux Limitus - bone spurs affecting the great toe - on both feet became critical in early 2016 after carrying manageable symptoms for a number of years. Following a GP appointment I consulted with a specialist surgeon (a circuitous & frustrating process via the NHS) and another local podiatry clinic. The outcome of these consultations left me with a bleak outlook of surgery and a lifetime of wearing 'rocker' soled shoes along with explicit advice to stop walking recreationally; at the age of 36, a very daunting and life changing prospect. Not yet ready to accept this as my fate, I eventually made an appointment at Premier Physio with Shauna Nash, their in-house podiatrist. Due to her background in biomechanics, from the very first appointment Shauna assessed me in a way no one else had previously. She immediately added contrast to all other previous advice and along with Shauna's confidence and experience in her approach, gave me renewed hope that things could eventually be OK. Some months later I am now pain free and walk where I want, in whichever shoes I please. I feel very lucky to have received Shauna's council – a most wonderful & talented lady – who has had a profound impact on the quality of my life and to whom I can't quite express how grateful I am. The Premier Physio clinic provides a warm and calming environment. Thank you and best wishes to all the staff.
