I recently stayed here for five nights while working away. I experienced two different rooms: one on the ground floor facing the reception entrance and another on the first floor overlooking Lidl. Despite the location, both rooms were relatively quiet. However, the lack of an elevator made accessing the first-floor rooms inconvenient, so keep that in mind if you have mobility issues or heavy luggage.nnThe reception staff were generally friendly, though one taller staff member was quite dismissive and made me feel like a bother when I asked for help opening the door to carry my food to my room.nnThe rooms were acceptable but uncomfortably warm and stuffy, which was frustrating as most hotels I stay in offer air conditioning. A fan was provided, but it wasn't sufficient to cool the room. The heat made three of my nights quite uncomfortable. The bathrooms were standard; the ground floor had excellent water pressure, while the upstairs room had less.nnThe restaurant was adequate. Fridays were particularly busy, possibly due to understaffing; there were only three staff members, including the chef, most nights. There was an older gentleman who was exceptionally helpful and a young woman with black hair who was also lovely, along with another lady working on the evening of August 1st.nnThe food was pretty average. The fish and chips weren't great, and the lack of mayonnaise and cutlery was inconvenient. My favorite dishes were the mixed grill and the pizza. For breakfast, I only had granola, but the staff were lovely, and the selection was great. Although just to note the chef hadn’t arrived when I got in for breakfast the 1st of August at about 0715hrs which I found odd.nnIn summary, the location was excellent for my work needs, but the lack of air conditioning made the stay uncomfortable.
Awful stay , worst ever. Room too hot, couldn't turn thermostat down as it wouldn't turn on. The noise levels of the water system were horrendous, sounded like a plane taking off. We wanted a quiet meal on our last night but the chef rang in sick. The only redeeming feature was the friendliness of the staff. Very overpriced bar .
Receptionist rather uninterested in me being there.nThe kettle tripped the room electrics. Having arrived past 9pm, after a long day, I was in mood to go to reception and find a working kettle.nExpecting to have the use of a shower, I did not bring any soap, so was some what surprised with no shower curtain. This made using the provided soap somewhat difficult whilst soaking!nThat said, a good location, not far off the main dual carriageway.
Not a bad hotel. Area is a bit run down with the abandoned cinema around the front of the hotel. Found bath plug was missing. Asked at reception, waited 40mins without hearing anything. So went back to the reception and they had found one. On the last night the guy on reception had good customer service but could really do with a shower as his smell was offensive. I’m sure there would be a room with a shower that he could use and considering he was representing Premier inn. Someone needs to say something to him regarding his personal hygiene. Other than that is was a pleasant stay and the breakfast in the morning was a quite good.
Was OKnBit of let down with the restaurant. But the rooms were tidy and clean. The bath and shower worked nicely. Just a shame we got charged for the meal.deal even when they couldn't accommodate itn..
