If another chippy opened up in Budleigh this place would go bust. Ridiculously slow. I live in London, the husband and wife that run my local chippy would serve dozens of people in the time it takes to get one cod and chips here, AND it's better quality. I've known people wait an hour here before giving up. This is not down to huge demand, it's down to poor management - obviously the one chippy in a seaside resort is going to be busy between 6-8, if places in Exmouth etc can dish up award winning fish and chips without a lengthy wait, why can't this place? The food isn't even all that, just standard nothing to write home about fish and chips. Save your time and drive into Exmouth.

Firstly, sort out your signs to the shop as we wandered around for ages looking for this plaice ;-). Then we got to the chippy, and were waiting in the entrance as the place was full, some lady rocked up and looked at us like we had just shot her mother, then barged past to queue from the other side (Not specifically related to the shop, but wound me up at the time). Ordered 4 portions of chips, 1 small portion and 5 drinks "£19.60 please !!!!" £1.30 for a drink..... Geeeeez maybe if we were in the middle of a desert. The chips themselves were just OK, portions were small, and consisted mainly of a few chips and then loads of pieces of fried batter. Given the options at this location I wouldn't go back again. Also states outside that they accept cards, until you get to the till and they tell you cash only.....

Why don't they cook some fish and have it ready, they must know their market. Insisting on cooking everything to order is crazy, you can wait 30 minutes!!

Absolutely fantastic fish and chips, freshly cooked to order with lovely crisp, golden batter. Gluten free catered for.

This is one of the worst fish and chip shops I been to. Always really slow. Rude staff. Awful food. Had gravy at £1.50 a pot and it was essentially brown flavourless water. Soggy fish that was very expensive. Chips pretty average. Will make the short trip to Exmouth in future, rather than wasting my money on inedible food from this joke of a chip shop.
