Nice and basic bunkhouse, would advise going as a group as very poor signal once inside can get signal outside the house All the basic amenities, no TV or WiFi, but does give you a selection of board games and cards, and has nice big log burner with logs outside, which gets nice and hot.
Great location and place for a group to end their walk. Its basic, rough and ready and is entirely suitable. A big industrial cooker, a decent wood stove. We had a great time. We had to give the place a clean and empty bins although that may be because we got there too early. It's what we expected and 20 of us booked the whole house.
We stayed there for the weekend during winter. The bunkrooms are very basic, only a few of the heaters really worked and barely kicked out and heat what-so-ever and a few of the beds need replacing. There is a log burner in the lounge area which was amazing and once that got going it heated the whole bunk house and we were tostie warm all night! The drying room is good and dried out kit overnight and has plenty of room in it. The kitchen was a bit basic and didn't have much to work with. When we arrived we spent an half an hour cleaning the kitchen. Be-warned, there is no reception of WIFI so you will be out of contact for the weekend. We never met anyone who worked there but they were lovely on the phone and very helpful. Although a few update are needed I would love to stay there again but don't expect a 5 star hotel, this is a lovely but basic bunk house which is very remote.
Calling this a tourist attraction is a bit far-fetched. It is an industrial archeology site, with many buildings, unroofed, and a good, chimney. It provides a good site for photos. In summer the path to it might be dry, but in winter it almost certainly won't. Good to plan a walk through it. It is on the Lych Way, and also not too far for a walker, from Bellever Youth Hostel.
A great place to stay for the weekend. There was a group of 19 of us kayaking on the DART for the weekend. The rooms were clean and warm with a great communal room to fit us all in.
A large complex with several ruins gated off due to mill water and 2 remaining chimeys. Along the Lich Way.
Basic but great...you'll know if you like that of thing
