While very lovely people I’m sad to say that I think the staff here are briefed to say packages have no compensation when in fact they do - this isn’t the first time it has happened. I just returned an item from an online merchant with a FREE prepaid returns service … the sticker that printed out at the post office clearly said Tracked 48 which has £100 compensation and tracking as standard but the lady behind the counter tried to upsell me more compensation for an additional £4.45 and claimed it wasn’t a tracked service. Naughty !
I’m generally a generous reviewer, however I like many others have found the staff to be rude and obnoxious, they claim to know things that aren’t true and make you pay way more than is necessary, to send a letter. The only upside is there pretty cards! They just need some training in sales and how to be kind!
This Post Office should be an example for how every Post Office should operate. Staff are so friendly and helpful, and nothing is an issue. Great experience
I have lived in Penryn for over 10 years and use the Post Office regularly. The Post Master is very friendly and so is his team. A real asset to the town. I understand everyone has a different experience, but I have never received anything but kindness and a good service - even when I turn up with 20 parcels for eBay! I have witnessed how gentle he is with the older population and he was a star all the way through COVID. Five stars!
The service was fantastic from a gentleman I believe to be known as Jason? who is there often. It is rare to find someone who really cares about their job and service given to the community. He was honest and helpful with helping with me needs and went above and beyond to protect my goods being posted. I sent a phone to be returned and he warned me that my parcel was not covered although it said tracked, I decided to risk it. After his kind warning and worry for my goods I called up to see if I could go back and he very kindly went out of his way to find out my parcel from the sacks so I could come back and pay for more protected service. I've never come across an individual before so willing to go the extra mile to help me and provide exceptional customer service. Not to mention the fact that he was also so kind and friendly to myself and my daughter everytime we go in. Fantastic service.
This is a community resource and an extraordinary place with extraordinary staff!! Both Jason and Dinah are exemplary in their constant efforts to do the very best for whatever business you wish to transact. They NEVER rush you, regardless of the queue, they treat EVERYONE with the same respect and professionalism; smiling, courteous and helpful. That can not be said for some customers and the appalling abuse. I realise that this is a very stressful time for many people but there is NO excuse for taking out frustration on Post Office staff. They are remarkable and a credit to the Post Office and Royal Mail. Thank you.
The guys here work their fluffy socks off! Always a smile from them especially Jason always go out of their way to help you and are so patient. Great little duo
Shame you cannot rate with no stars. The worst customer experience I have every encountered.
Guy serving me tried to get me to pay £6 for tracking postage for a form of identification. I said no as I can not afford it. He tried to convince me otherwise but I stated I'm a student and can't afford it. He 'advised' me to spend my money better. Thought this was very rude as you don't know me or what I go through I'd rather buy food then spend £6 on posting.
Depends on which day you go in to what reception you will get. Sometimes you can go in and the gentleman behind the counter is absolutely lovely. Really helpful, will make conversation with you and be polite. Other days you just get rude, condescending tones. Doesn't listen to a word you say you want to do, will demand you to do something before listening to what you want to do. Today for example I went in with a letter that needed to be special delivered back to me, tried explaining this but he wasn't interested. Ended up getting charged twice for the same thing and then when I handed 2 envelopes over the rude 'What is this' came out. Interrupted my when I tried explaining and didn't care that I had been overcharged. Will be using Falmouth/Mabe in future I think.
