Fantastic place for the kids and the dog. Lovely rocky beach with a small sandy part to it when the tide goes out. Cafe for light refreshments and Marshfield iced cream. Large open space for ball games or playing.
Great vist with our twins. Plenty of parking. Cafe open so had coffee and cake which was tasty. Expect to pay slightly over the odds but staff were pleasant and coffee was well made and tasty. Walked down to the beach via the accesible walkway and had a mooch about on the beach looking in rockpools and under stones for sea creatures. Playground: Great secure fenced off play area. Range of play equipment for different ages. Restrooms: Toilets were clean and tidy.
Such a gem in the Vale of Glamorgan Good parking. Wonderful walks and nice cafe on site. Dog friendly. Toilets on site
Just so tranquil. Great for walking your dogs. Mrs Marco's cafe is a good little place a scoffed & snack can recommend the sausage baps& bacon butties.
So beautiful park and at lovly place. Close to barry. Best place for BBQ, ride a bike, and walking. nice playground for kids.
Love the various walks you can do here, huge open spaces, park, sea with a pebble beach. Normally alot quieter than Barry Island & The Knap.
Wonderful open space and wooded areas, complete with small river/stream running down through the trees to the sea which is also accessible. Lots of pathways to explore through the trees and nature reserves to study. Play area for small humans has also been made available. Basically a great big shared space where all sorts can gather, have some alone time, chill, do sporty running about, walk animals, look at trees, spot trains, do nature, or do nothing. Mrs Marco's café is lovely, right by the farthest car park. Two parking areas; one at the bottom of the hill on entry, just before the railway bridge, and the other at the far end near the viaduct. Charges apply at time of writing: £1 for 2 hours, £2 for 4 hours; contactless payment machines on site. On a warm day, try to avoid being down wind of the public toilets near Mrs Marco's... If that situation can be rectified, my 4 stars may well become 5. Playground: Situated next to the "main" car park at the far end of the road, right by Mrs Marco's café. A good number of picnic benches nearby too. Restrooms: A small facility near the café. Dog-friendliness: Brilliant place to take dogs. Common courtesy of course to pop them on their strings nearby nesting families usually near the café end; gets quite popular in good weather. Plenty of exploration for our four legged friends including some water to play in, and the sea. Just be aware of the entrance road running alongside the main stretch of open land; free roaming traffic... Picnic area: Quite a few benches near the main car park and café. Toilet close by.
An extremely nice place to visit and enjoy the variety of nature - beautiful woods containing a huge variety of species of tree, with some lovely trails and paths. Not for the faint-hearted, although one can remain at the base of the woods and enjoy walking next to the stream. An awesome wooden park for children, and huge fields. There is a cafe selling ice cream seasonal I believe, and ample parking fairly pricedwith toilet facilities. There is also a pebbled beach to enjoy. Phone signal can be bad, which is good, depending on situation
Beautiful country park with plenty of open space to play with the kids and the huge woodland for exploring.
Absolutely wonderful place for dog walking. Lots of different scenery; grass, woods, pebble beach and wetlands. Restrooms: Public toilets available and free, clean but cold. Dog-friendliness: Dogs allowed off lead.
