Story

Portclew House is a grand Georgian Country House set in three acres of ground. Over recent years several of the outbuildings surounding the house have been restored and converted into luxurious self catering cottages.

This ideal location in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is just a stone's throw to the beautiful bay at Freshwater East and the coastal footpath which can be joined close by.

This Family run establishment is suitable whether your stay is for business or pleasure. You will find the friendly, comfortable surroundings most welcoming. We do not accept any pets into either the bed and breakfast guesthouse accommodation or the self catering cottages. Smoking is prohibited in both types of accommodation also.

Fantastic little b&b stunning inside and amazing view from your rooms, I have put this on my favourites so when I'm working down that way again I will be staying again, we had a nice greeting and because I have to be on site really early she made us a breakfast bag up to take with us which I found amazing as no 1 else does this. I would give 10 stars if I could 100% worth staying here
We visited the hen house for the first time back in 2018 ish and after 2 or 3 years returning for our summer holiday decamped to other accommodation as we found the cottage a bit cramped and with 3 kids, 1 bathroom became a bit impractical. We returned this year to find the master bed room had been improved massively with the addition of a super king size bed very comfortable and a very generously proportioned en suite which for us was a complete game changer. It's totally transformed the property and made our stay so much more comfortable. Would highly recommend especially if you are a 3 child family. We will be rebooking for next year.
Room was very outdated, old bed linen, yellow washed towels, lots of black mould in the bathroom, we were shocked. We spoke to a lady and she advised to spray antiblack mould solution in our bathroom. As we had a baby with us we asked if we can get a refund and find a different accommodation as the state of the room was very off putting, the state of bathroom looked like a train station toilet. We were assured that we will get a refund. We had then last minute with a baby to find a new accommodation which was a lot of stress. And no refund! Although we were promised a refund the hotel refused to give us one. What a bad experience. I’m really surprised where all these nice reviews came from, this is an outdated black mould hotel with staff who doesn’t treat nice their customers.

Service was great and the beds were really comfortable. The traditional English breakfast is excellent. Only downside was the dated bathroom, the broken hinge on the wardrobe door. Totally recommend Portclew House.Rooms: 4/5

We stayed as a family for just under 1week. Beautiful setting in Freshwater East, with a beach a few minutes walk away. The owners were wonderful, rooms where spacious and cleaned every day if you wanted that service. Refreshments in the room, topped up each day. Lots of choice for breakfast. I would definitely recommend staying there.
This guest house is something special . The house and gardens are amazing. Excellent value for money and the owners are super nice. Fabulous location for all the beaches too. Rooms: High class and beautifully clean, lovely views. Nearby activities: Beaches and woodland walks. Food & drinks: Fantastic breakfast and good room facilities.
Absolutely tranquil place. Will be bringing the family back.Rooms: 5/5
Good location, excellent beaches. We stayed in the "Dairy" which was well equipped. Bathrooms are downstairs and exterior could gave been spruced up but we were glad to have a holiday after Covid19 lockdown and will not hesitate to go back.
