My first time trying a Persian cuisine. Awesome place! I had a wonderful experience with new flavours that wakened my tasting pallets. Considering I have a sweet tooth, I love their ice cream with rose water…so refreshing to end the meal!Food: 5/5
Amazing Persian cuisine. Taste of foods were awesome and service was perfect. Only point was about the menu that does include most popular Persian dishes such as kebabs. If you are looking for Persian delicious rice with lamb shank, do not hesitate to try this restaurant. Food: 4/5
This place is going in my favourite restaurants of all time list. Although the rice leaves a bit to be desired, literally every other dish served here is top tier. From the apps with baba ganoush and olives to the mains with the lamb stew. Extremely intense flavours balanced exquisitely. Huge huge recommend.
This was my first time trying iranian cuisine. I strongly recommend to get the reservation done before going. The ambience is quite unique. We ordered: 1. Fesenjoon chicken + basmati rice: It had boneless chicken thighs. The curry was good. Rice weren’t that good. It’s enough for 1 person. 2. Kashk-e-bademjoon + barbary flatbread: I didn’t like it. Maybe I’m new to iranian cuisine. The eggplant didn’t have much spices. 3. Doogh Mahali: It’s salted buttermilk. Really tasty and enough for 2 persons. 4. Bastani Akbar Mashdi: Saffron ice cream with pistachios and almonds. It was good and enough for 2 people. Overall, I liked the drinks and desserts but found the mains to be bit average. But maybe cause I’ve never been to an iranian restaurant before. The staff is super friendly.
I have no idea how this place got 4.4 rating. Most pathetic food I’ve ever eaten. We ordered 2 dishes via Uber eats and the quality of the food was so below average. Adas polo + braised lamb shank was stinking so bad and Kask-e Bademjoon + Barbary flatbread was undercooked. My tummy started to ache after eating that. Worst food on earth. Wouldn’t recommend me going here ever.
We visited with friends on a weeknight. The restaurant looks pretty, with culturally adopted interior designs. I went to wash my hands before the meal, but spent few minutes just looking around in the washroom, it was very nostalgic. The attention to details was fascinating. The food however was average. We ordered Fesenjoon, baghali polo, boz ghorme and kashk bademjan. Boz ghorme was served with rice which was odd - traditionally it is served with bread. Homemade Boz ghorme is like a paste, when you take time to mash all ingredients. The one we were served, had chunks of meet and 2 fried eggplant on top. Eggplants were under cooked. Fesenjoon was the best of all dishes we ordered, I could call that “home style”. The rest of dishes were not really impressive. I have a strong sense of smell and I could smell the Lamb shanks even though I was not the one ordered them. Portions are not generous. My husband was still hungry and we ordered another portion of rice to eat with left over stews. The plates are large themselves but the rice portion on it is not enough for a man lol, we still had half of our stew and no rice left. Overall, we drove for an hour to get to Pomegranate, then spent another 10 minutes finding a carpark. I wont come back, even though it was okay to give it a try.
Little Persian restaurant in a very hip location. The interior was nice and the restaurant had great ambiance. I started with mint tea and the eggplant dip. The dip was really tasty and with the bread it was very tasty. For the main, I ordered the Fesenjan with chicken but it wasn’t my favourite. The gravy had a sweet and sour taste and there wasn’t much chicken in the dish. For dessert I got the saffron ice cream and that was delicious. It’s a large portion. The service was good but they can be very busy.
We got together wpith our friends in this restaurant to try traditional and delicious persian food. It was a wise option. We are happy to spend our weekend's night here. Very warm atmosphere and welcoming staff. They vividly explained to us about our foods to make sure we're choosing the right one. Regarding interior design, I would say it was a reminiscent of a traditional Iranian restaurants in the middle of old Tehran. I'll try it out again with more friends soon.
I visited this restaurant recently, and the atmosphere was incredibly nostalgic and authentically Iranian. However, I was disappointed with the limited quantity and unimpressive taste of the food. Contrary to expectations, the service was very disorganized and unprofessional.Food: 1/5
I can not be even more excited than this. As a persian I can tell this place is one of the best places in Toronto to try persian foods. For starter, we had “Mirza Ghasemi” with “Barbari bread”. For sides we had “Zeytoon Parvarde” and “Mast moosir” and “Torshi”. For the main dishes we had “ Fesenjan” and “Gheyme” and “ Baghali polo ba mahiche”. The whole main dishes and sides and starters tasted so great. It tastes like home. For drinks we had dogh, which I think has more room to get better. For desert we had “Chai”, “Bastani Akbar Mashdi”, “Baklava”. Definitely, it is worth to try. I will try again. Thanks for this amazing experience.
