Avoid. I reached there after a long day of travel fully intending to buy at least a few rounds of drinks for my partner and me. It was surprisingly hot and stuffy inside the pub and it smelt of old cooking oil, so I took a few sips from the water bottle I always have in my hand. This was even before we sat down! The manager immediately materialized at my side, whinging about how we had to buy drinks at the bar, we couldn't just drink our own water. It was said in a very rude and racially prejudiced way, and we decided not to spend a single pence in the establishment and left. The manager made an embarrassment of herself and lost them money that night. Poor service, stuffy interiors, and terrible attitude towards outsiders. Disgusting.

Stopped by for a quick drink just because it was called Pirate Inn! Lovely picturesque place and gorgeous garden. Friendly staff.
