It's at the end of the n2. The food is decent and while in the past I wouldn't have left a review, I was at an event on the 30th of March and they had the bar open for tea and coffee which was great for all in attendance as our group really love tea and coffee. The food was better than in the past, Thai Green chicken curry with rice. The food was great. The service was first class too.
While Pillo Hotel has nice facilities, and is in a quiet location, there is so much improvement to be made in the ‘Service’ angle. For a hotel rated as 4-stay, majority of the service is 2-star at best. Communication between Reception and Housekeeping was really disjoint, reporting housekeeping issues to the reception didn’t yield any results. The Housekeeping service is one of the worst I’ve experienced. I spent a total of about 5 weeks there, only leaving on weekends, as I was on a business trip. On two of the weekends, I forgot some toiletries, which I never got back. Even though I’d called reception on both occasions, after I returned two nights later, they never returned the items nor even called me back. Housekeeping never offered any explanation nor apology, which made me wonder what would’ve happened if I’d left something like a laptop behind. Each week, I didn’t have my room cleaned more than twice. Since they hardy came around, amenities were hardly replaced. I had to call reception several times for water to be sent to my room, and sometimes it took ages for someone to bring it. It felt like Reception and Housekeeping were operating from different hotels. Having spent that long there, I expected some kind of familiarity from the day staff, some warmth, if I may, but the staff always had a curt and estranged attitude. One morning, I got a really rude treatment from one of the waitresses, who due to a clerical error wouldn’t let me have breakfast, on my third week at the hotel. She wouldn’t even call the reception to verify, and I had to leave to go resolve it myself. Fortunately the reception was helpful. I would be amiss, anyway, if I failed to commend the night staff. The lads and ladies at the bar, and the reception staff were very welcoming and friendly, and made you feel comfortable when you walked back in. Sadly, and surprisingly, I got to see them less than I saw the day staff. The night pizza service was a life-saver too.
Thank you to all at Pillo Hotel. We booked a night to celebrate my father inlaws 80th. There were about 40 people for the dinner. It was delicious! The restaurant, bar and reception staff were lovely and very very helpful. Thanks again for a wonderful experience
Amazing place, couldn’t fault it. Staff can’t do enough for the guests. Food was fantastic. Our room was perfect, very comfortable bed, plenty space. Great shower and bathroom. Manager Darrell is excellent at his job. I’ll be back.Rooms: 5/5
Perfect for our needs. Traveling with children, and we had a large room with two separate bedrooms. The hotel put up an extra bed in one of them, and there was still plenty of space. Nice spread at breakfast and very helpful and friendly staff. We were visiting family nearby, so the location was just right for us, but its also easy to get into Dublin. Would happily stay here again.
Pillo Hotel! Boy did you deliver! From friendly, super helpful and most importantly professional staff, to the impeccably clean spacious family room we stayed in, We were delighted to have chose to stay with Pillo hotel. We will definitely will be returning. We found it really easy to get to places in and around Dublin without any heavy traffic so we found that to be an extra bonus! Great location! Nearby activities: Bowling, laser tag and soft play nearby, like a 5 min drive. Same as Applgreens and mr price warehouse!
Attended a wedding at this hotel from the moment of check in everything was just perfect .Attention to detail was just amazing the wedding meal wow hats off to the cheif food was absolutely Fabulous. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming the room were very spacious and clean cannot fault this hotel in any way thank you for an exceptional stay Rooms: The rooms were perfect for our trip big spacious clean all rituals in the bathrooms great touch love rituals, everything you needed for your stay was supplied . Nearby activities: lots to do and see close by the hotel not to far from emerald park
The rooms were OK, nothing spectacular, the main problem was the food. It was a real letdown. The lunch was terrible. The ceaser salad was drowned in sauce, and the chicken could have been used to wedge a door. We ate out in the evening due to this. The breakfast wasn't much better. It was self service, the bacon was literally just shown the pan.it looked very under cooked and extremely salty, and all items weren't that hot. One of the staff came and scooped beans from the plate where the spoon was resting back into the dish. I think there could be a few health and hygiene rules there being crossed. It wouldn't be my first choice again. Basic rooms, appalling food. Rooms: Basic Food & drinks: Horrendous
Was there for a wedding so can't rate the rooms. The venue was cold, but I don't know if that was the decor that made it feel cold. The food was good but very tight on the portions. At our table, there wasn't enough bread for the soup, so I had to ask for more. Also, the veg at the main course was insufficient and had to ask for more.
A hotel situated outside Dublin but with a convenient distance to the airport. A professional hotel with many rooms for conferences and courses. It is modern and nice with families coming on the weekends. Prize is expensive like all hotels in Dublin but that's the country.
