Needed a belt shortening as it was too big for me and Anthony did a fantastic job and charged me £7 which was a fair price. Very accurate measurements and now my belt fits perfectly! I collected two days after as I wasn't in a rush but I'm sure they can do the work while you wait too. Would 100% recommend! Great service!
A proper cobbler, and no job too tricky. Keys cut, shoes mended, leatherwork done... Had an issue with a pesky heel breaking off and after my second visit, the guy had a look and realised my boots weren't reinforced - so has nailed in reinforcement and hopefully that's the end of it. But it won't be the end of my visits!
This company ruined my watch! My wife even checked if could change the battery on the watch and they said they could. The same day the back popped off where they hadn't fastened it properly. They tried to blame the watch manufacturer and anyone but themselves. They wouldn't even issue a refund as a gesture for their botched 'service'. AVOID.
Brought a £200 pair of goodyear welted dainite soled Barker Pitlochry shoes in to get new soles. I paid £45 in advance and was told they'd ready in a week. In the end they were ready a day late. The heel block on one shoe had been damaged and no attempt was made to repair it. This resulted in one heel block with a ninety degree edge and the other with an eighty degree edge. The soles had also not been stitched. Every pair of dainite soled shoes I own have stitching as do the photos of dainite soles on the website of the manufacturer of the dainite soles. I went back to the shop to complain and the cobbler suggested he cut the good heel block to match the damaged one. What a brilliant idea, NOT!! I said the damaged one needed a new heel block and the soles needed stitching as the shoes had when I brought them to the shop. I was told the shoes would be ready within the week. I returned to collect the shoes and discovered that they had cut both heel blocks to have an eighty degree edge not what I asked them to do and had changed the soles on the heel blocks to be smaller than the ones that had been on the previous week. They had stitched the soles but it had been done incorrectly as they had gouged a channel in the dainite soles and the soles were chipped and the damage had been partially covered with resin. They clearly don't have the machines or experience to repair shoes with goodyear welted dainite soles and they should not be offering this service. If you have a decent pair of shoes that need repairing do NOT take them to this shop as they will ruin them. I've now been left with a pair of shoes I have no confidence in and will probably end up throwing in the bin in the very near future. Three photos of "repaired" shoes attached together with two photos of another pair of barker pitlochry shoes showing how the stitching and heel block are supposed to look.
I will deficiently recommend this place to anyone who need to get their shoe repaired. I wanted the rubber soles for my shoes and a gentleman called Luke repaired my shoes within an hour. Exceptional level of service at an exceptional price! The attention to detail is phenomenal !!
Brilliant service. Make sure to visit your local independent cobbler. First class service
In my experience, the initial customer service is good. However, iIn the end this has turned out to be a graveyard for my shoes. I had several pairs re-soled at the same time. One pair of Oxfords had to go back 3 times before the new sole would stop coming away from the upper. On another pair, the shoe had been sufficiently damaged that a subsequent repair was financially un-viable. Nice enough guys, but your shoes will not last as long as they should, as a result of the work carried out. Fine for cheaper shoes, but I wouldn't be inclined to take a decent pair here.
Today I brought in my £350 Allen Edmonds to be resoled, after asking a few days back whether they did this service and for what price. At first I was amazed that he’d offered to re-welt, re-sole, and replace the heel block for less than £35, when Timpsons were the next cheapest at £85 for a similar service. Before handing over my shoes I asked if the re-welt would use a similar stitch colour, and his response gave away that he actually isn’t really a cobbler. He said he would cut the welt, and glue the new sole on and secure it in place by having the sole pressed, which made no sense as on any goodyear welted or blakestitch constructed shoe, you would never glue the sole back on. The entire point point of a welted/stitched shoe is that it’s not of a glued construction, making it last significantly longer, which is why these shoes cost so much to begin with. If you have a pair of shoes that needs glueing back together they guys are the people for the job. If you have quality shoes you’ve invested good money in, you’re better off looking for a proper cobbler elsewhere. Not to say the glued resoles wouldn’t have been any good, but that it’s a completely inappropriate service to offer on the completely wrong product! I’m glad I chose not to use their services!
Great service! Soles looking great again within an hour. My shoes were pretty worn out but he gave it a good dark polish and it looks new!
